According to Autoracer Hamilton used CI discs since Japan.

I mean Leclerc. Why can he no longer stop the car when his brakes are the same.

I wonder if it could be the time spent under braking in Canada and Monaco is more than the tracks theyve been at previous to them exposing an issue with these new gen of cars?

In my opinion, Mercedes being granted any ADUO at all significantly weakens the effectiveness of Ferrari's ADUO concession. It just means that Mercedes have to release all the updates as a single bigger PU update (PU 3 or PU 4) where Ferrari will likely introduce it in smaller steps (PU 3 and PU 4).

The Lewis switching to Carbon Industry brakes is a lie people tell every two races. Lol.

As far as I know, he has been developing the brakes with Brembo and Brembo alone.

He struggled with them all year and the brake disks you are seeing know would have been baking in the oven, literally and figuratively after months of working together. The CI brakes would not have been suited to this new Ferrari car. There is simply no data for them to build on.

Anyway.. Charles is complaining but people are also saying he was very quick?! Then it obviously not affecting his ultimate pace then. It means he is having issues with braking under changing conditions. I feel this is the rear brake pads and the engine braking settings.

It’s absolutely crazy that the brakes failed during the SC. Leclerc said 3 out of 4 brakes didn’t work as expected, with the rear ones not braking at all. Could have been extremely dangerous in a different situation.

Maybe these issues started in Canada only because it was the first real stop and go track of the season where you need to really stress the brakes. Hopefully the solution (whatever it is) for Spain will work.

You are right this day and edge you believe you can switch brake brand like that.
Brembo has also been so from the history of the whole company. All these years a sponsor.
It is not just a component from some shelf at a manufactorer anymore.

Maybe is not a brake material issue. Maybe not a Brembo vs CI thing.

But maybe in the search for performance they have modified the brake blending strategy since Miami just to allow for the MGU-K more time to recover kinetic energy. And maybe now the transition from MGU-K to brakes is more abrupt and if the brake are not perfect temp they are inconsistent when this transition happens.

From the articles shared here, I understand that the Brembo should be more linear gain with the pedal application but the Carbon Industry should be more of step and hold gain.
It might be a matter of the CI works/steps in more consistently with the new MGU-K brake blending strategy since Miami.

Leclerc had been with Ferrari for how many years now? His influences/wants should already be in their cars.

what has Leclerc achieved in 10 years at Ferrari other than blaming the team or his teammate?
if the brakes were bad why is Hamilton the only one that has decided to change them

Yeah Brembo is italian and Ferrari probably wanted to pretend they still use them on both cars, and now leclerc had enough and wants to burn it all down, lol.

Are you sure? I heard master cylinder too. Not that I have experience but would the ‘feel’ be sufficiently altered with just a disc change?

From my crude point of view, it looks like Lewis basically has a brake configuration that works great for qualifying but has worse race pace. It was quite clear that Charles was a lot faster in Monaco during the race. Feels like the effect is amplified in hotter conditions too

I would not be surprised if the race pace of Charles suffers because of the switch, which is a shame. It would make us the 4th faster team whenever Redbull and Mclaren manage to complete their weekends properly.
