from what I saw in FP3 :
- bad through 1-2-3
- terrible through 10-11-12
- lot of lift needed through 13 & 14.

It all means a mega lack of downforce on a 'fully-aero' track. To achieve balance, the front wing too has to be backed off , which in turn will produce mega understeer through 7 & 10. I think it's going to be worse than Suzuka, the laptime deficit to the leaders, Miami upgrade has been 'cancelled out' because everyone else ahead has made jumps too.

Hulkenberg's Audi has a good chance to be fighting with Verstappen for P7.

Throttle trace tells the story. Just lacking load which leads to bigger lifts a lot of time lost.Image

Probably weight and tyre temp related. Lawson just did a 22.9 in S3, Max did a 23.1 best of his weekend.

If he could get out of T10 without a slide for once...
Still I don't expect more than P6 at best.

Banker lap while others haven't, good

There's pace, Max's lap was very good but he had a snap in sector 2.

The Q2 lap looked better.
Think there 3 tenth left with a great lap but that's it

Good laps I think, tyres just don't have it anymore in S3

Unfortunately last sector on the final lap wasn't optimal, could have been P3 with a similar sector as previous lap.
Hadjar only 0.05s off.

Think Max just went full send on that final lap and the tyres didn't hold. He was almost matching Russell through the first two sectors.

Agreed. Highspeed cornering is still lacking a bit but I think tires (as for everyone) are the biggest issue.

After today I'm climbing aboard the organic train. If Verstappen can be this close right now, imagine what will happen when they drop te weight etc.

Better than expected. Let's hope the race pace will be good.

Yeah, Monaco medium speeds corners gave me hope that the car would be much more competitive here. If the Austria package is worth even just 0.2s it would put them within touching distance of the top, that would allow Max to consistently fight for podiums.

I think they might have shaved off some weight this weekend with the rumoured new chassis. They might drop some more for Austria.

Austria with the lower weight+new package and already great slow speed performance has me dreaming.

Nothing will happen. They’ve been far closer to the leaders on single lap pace than race pace all year. And the deficit on genuine race pace (don't confuse with Friday FP2 pace please) is far bigger than 3 or 4 tenths we saw today.
