Congratulation Fernando Alonso, you really deserve this crown because winning it in a slower car is ever harder and even Kimi could not have dont it. Well done. Fantastic season! :D

I, honestly, would like to have seen Kimi win the championship, but 'congratulations' to Alonso.

Can you guys imagine the atmosphere in Sao Paolo right now? What wouldn't I give to be there right now...

why didn't he do it in Spa, I was there!! :D

Anyway, this is a HUGE relief after all the boring Schumacher years. The last time I was just so happy with a championship winner was with Jacques Villeneuve, I remember getting up in the middle of the night to see him win the world champion. It was probably a little bit more exciting back then as JV's car was damaged (for the obvious Schumacher reasons :roll: )

anyway =D> =D>

Every now and then, guys from Speed TV make sarcastic comments that are just priceless. One guy's comments in particular, ex-F1 driver David Hobbs, always make me laugh...especially when Flavio is his target.

Today, he was talking about what might happen at the beginning of the race - as the drivers are coming into Turn 1. He said that he believes that Montoya will attack Alonso, who, thinking of his World Championship, will probably let him by by braking early. Which, in Hobbs' opinion, might be a problem - he was "worried" that Fisichella might run into him, taking both of them out of the race. That would give their "aging boss a heart attack", which would red flag the race because Flavio would have to be airlifted to the hospital - i.e. no helicopter, no race :D

Another comment he made (at least I think it was him) was when Fisichella crossed the finish line at the British GP (having stalled his car twice in the two races as he was trying to leave the pit stop). Hobbs said how Fisichella would be better off "getting on a highway and driving as far away from Flavio as possible because Flavio will kill him".

Who is this Hobbs clown? I've never heard of him! There is little in this world worse than jealousy. :twisted:

I also never heard about him. This is what I found:
Name: David Hobbs
Nationality: Great Britain
Date of birth: June 9, 1939 - Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

A likable and enormously versatile driver, Hobbs could turn his hand to anything from Formula 1 to sports cars and from touring cars to Indycars. His best Formula 1 result was seventh in the 1974 Austrian Grand Prix at the wheel of a Yardley McLaren M23 in which he was deputizing for the injured Mike Hailwood. He raced on into the 1990s and now a respected TV commentator based for most of his time in the USA.

A champion's season. He has done it all (and had all the good luck he needed too ;)) - he has won from the front, he has worked his way through the field, he has defended (Imola), he has got the car placed as well as it could when he couldn't win. Only one mistake I can think of - Canada.

He has driven hard and fast everywhere.

A deserved Champion :D

Back to Fernando...WELL DONE! I am so happy the Driver's Crown rests with someone other than Schumi...also I'm glad we have seen a good season with a battle that has gone (almost lol) to the wire. Also note...when was the last time anybody cared about the constructors title as much as we all do NOW?! lol. Well Done Fernando!
