Messy day so far, hard to read.
Long run pace look more competitive though

Not bad at all tbh, if they used similar qualy mode as Merc, Max would have been very competitive with Kimi, and the race pace looks very competitive vs anyone else.

Impression I had :
Lots of downforce has been added, Sector2 looks 'big four' level, however ride is nowhere as good as the other three. Too stiff, T3 camber and elevation causes three wheeling / engine cut due to traction loss, and drivers are forced to take wide-in-wide-out line without being near apex.
However, seemed like both Redbull & Ferrari were in more conservative engine modes / higher fuel modes, from what I saw of the top speed numbers, w.r.t Mercedes & Mclaren, so not sure whether the laptimes are representative.

I wonder if they'll break the curfew tonight. Surely lots to review.

Does it? I don't think so and Mercedes has also very little tire degradation.

Don't see a big improvement on one lap pace at least so far if we consider that track would have been better anyway for them even with the old spec?

Not that bad. Red Bull slowest in straights, so engine is tuned down. And who knows how heavy is the car with fuel. Still fastest in slow speed corners, so traction is excellent.

Verstappen saved more of the harder tires (2xH, 2xM), so only has 3 sets of softs for Quali now.

The gap to the midfield looks large enough here, but may still come with a bit of a risk.

They might run a medium for Q1 and even the first Q2 run.
The soft also seems good enough for two maybe even three push laps.
Should not be an issue.

Seems very close with McLaren and Ferrari but may lack a couple of tenths to Merc. The final lap wasn't great as he went deep into T4. The car seems to lack some compliance in the final corner, consistently losing time there.
