Torro Rosso treatment of drivers

Post

What are they doing to this Jamie kid? He has a contract, stops looking for a drive elsewhere as apparantly he had the paperwork signed months before.

Now again using expert communication skills they call his slot TBA?

They seem to do something like this yearly to at least one driver. I would be scared if I was signed to str as a rookie.

well STR is there to develop the Red Bull Young Drivers.. its obviously not only about driving skills, but handling stress & pressure. Jaime's management team are struggling..

there must be a reason for STR's actions.. perhaps Jaime was signed as a pay driver, and his sponsors haven't paid up yet?

And if his sponsors havnt paid up yet, no drive. And the fact that Red Bull know that theres arguably better drivers out there like Kimui Kobiyashi that are arguably faster than Jamie, they may be able to wriggle out the contract and get a faster driver on board.

Also, they may be looking at the Loeb thing again, as if Kimi goes to Citroen, Loeb may go to STR-Ferarri.

Reasons aside, they are hanging him out to dry while looking for someone better without telling him or his management, and hindering his chance for a drive elsewhere, even a lower series.

It's just not a cool thing to do, and I don't see other teams keeping contracted drivers in the dark like that. STR so far have been almost inhumane in their management of driver contracts. Whatever their reason, nobody needs to treat drivers like pieces of meat you just install and forget about until contract time.

Loeb doesn't meet the requirements for a super license, and will be unable to by the start of 2010.

STR are bl00dy awful to their drivers IMO unless you are the new Vettel...(which they don't have at the moment.

Is the fault surely on their part?
Maybe just a FIA secretary typo, TBA is muuuch easier to type than Algersuary(not sure I got it right  )

I don't think he ever should have been in that car in 2009. Yes British f3 championship is a good merit, but he hasn't really been impressive in World Series by Renault and in his starts with STR he hasn't shown anything interesting.

With so many good drivers without a drive I don't see why he should be in STR, the only valid reason is that he is bringing a lot of money.

I hope you're joking, how is Kimi eventually driving a junior team C4 dislodging the world champion and probable best rally driver ever born from the works team? :D

You didn't: it's Alguersuari.

Maybe that's the reason
As far as been public, Jaime's place was already assured since last year, even before replacing Bourdais, by the need STR has in signing Repsol to finance next year's season.

RedBull young driver programme a.k.a 'the kiss of death' is getting beyond ridiculous. Hopefully Dietrich will realize that and sells STR to someone willing to go racing.
