F1TV saying they think McLaren will try to test a "macarena" wing - apparently a different one to the one they had in Austria.
Mclaren's macarena wing is the new bigfoot.
Yeah agreed WTF. May be masterstroke by Marshall to keep everyone staring at the rear wing when changes are elsewhere?
Reminds me of the "c'mon do something" stick poking meme

That can’t be right? - Norris has used 3 sets of new soft tyres this FP1….
I know he has a penalty but surely the aim is to make it into Q3?

Yes but one set of Meds is 1 lap only so the team considers it scrubbed...

Neither drive did a real performance run. Switched to long run immediately after the fast lap. Race pace looking strong for PIA?

EDIT: nice jinx, PIA's car broke

Didn't look like a macarena wing.

the onboard on F1TV only starts to show the tires at the end of the pit lane, but pretty sure the 2nd stint was on a used set.

So he likely used (and returned) two sets of softs and keeps the 1-lap old medium for later

Pitpass:
"The low downforce rear wing we brought has performed as we hoped, which is another positive to take into the weekend. Our main focus overnight will be on fine-tuning the energy deployment strategy and ensuring reliability so that we are able to maximise our track time. We've gathered a lot of data from various options tested today, but we know the best is still out there for us to find.

Good news.

How do fans of Mclaren feel about this year so far. Is there dissapointment that we arent on top anymore or are you relaxed due to Mclaren having taken back to back titles and expecting a return to top form later this year or next year? I'm curious to hear what you think.

In the meantime the car seems to be able to be front row. Norris proves it. Piastri has to perform the same.

Slightly concerned by Oscar's pace of late. Not sure if the MV rumours are affecting him in any way.

I'm relaxed. I hoped for more but realistically they were in a tough spot with less development time and Mercedes witholding information.

With the reliability issues we had I think the results are quite good and if one of the upgrades works well they will be challenging for wins.

Hopefully it materializes next year if not this year. If next year looks similar or worse then I would be disappointed.

I’m relaxed too. They are the the reigning champions by winning 3 of the last 4 titles on offer over the last 2 seasons.
This is a new rule cycle and the sport is set up now to hinder the most successful team and therefore driver.
The current budget cap & ATR allowed Red Bull to be toppled. Then Verstappen. Now McLaren and Lando.

I’m also waiting for the Hungary/ Netherlands updates but I doubt they’ll be enough for a title bid.

Officially is only the RW air flow check.
