Blame games are boring. Onwards and upwards.
100%. I believe Honda can turn it around in two years.

I think two races, for once Honda is heavily downplaying how good of an upgrade it is cause they themselves don't belive it (delusional mondays)
Halo not as bad as we thought

Yeah, give them the benefit of the doubt, we'll soon find out anyways.

Fernando Q3. I have not had a stronger feeling for anything Fernando or Honda related. This is it . This is our McLaren Honda that never was (or the beginning of).

We were talking about parts that need the ADUO regs to be changed. You're creating a fog of hopes, approach and dreams to avoid saying that there will NOT be a 2nd round of ADUO upgrades by Honda for 2026.
I've said before that I believe they will use the 2nd ADUO. Everything I've posted about Asaki was published in his column a few days ago. No idea where you get the idea that I'm creating a fog of hope that they won't use the ADUO, your logic seems backwards. You don't seem to understand my diction. Honda intends to use the extra budget and dyno allowance the ADUO affords.

According to Andrew Benson (bbc) all of the Honda engineers from RB are back working for Honda and the expect 0.5 improvement from PU in Holland.

Because Honda already said they will not use the second ADUO upgrade this year.

All the engine manufacturers are focused on 2027, and Honda is too—and has been for longer. I hope and trust they started working on it as early as testing or even Australia.

Lying while representing a global brand isn't a very good way to represent it. I'm sorry, but I prefer to trust the Japanese more.
30 hp ice, + 30 hp electric is already an estimate, and I don't know if there is anyone who thinks it is real number. After all, the Honda boss didn't give a specific number and said they didn't gain 50 hp with new engine. But he also said it's a big step, not a small one. Looking at it from that perspective, 30 hp seems like a reasonable estimate. Until we see the results with our own eyes, read the times on the screen, and hear statements from the team, we can only make some guesses. Maybe it will be more maybe less.
This is smile worthy. Speaking in the name of a global brand has to be one of the most dishonest tasks. It's all about toeing the corporate line.
You know nothing about Orihara. You obviously have bitterness against Honda. Clearly not a fan.
He joined Honda in 2003 as an engineer, he joined Honda F1 in 2013 after working on road cars for his first 10. He was part of the original F1 development engineering team all the way through 2025. His best memories are 2021 when Max and Honda won the Championship and ending the 2025 season on a high note.
Don't project things onto me.
I didn't say anything about Orihara, nor is it particularly relevant. He does what is required by his role, including toeing the company line, whatever it may be at any given point.

Right, we all know they're going to use the ADUO-allocated resources. We just don't think they're going to release a third ICE revision in 2026. They'll keep updating the software and peripheral items live. They'll keep working on the ICE, but those learnings will go into the 2027 ICE.

That's all we're saying. I even looked at the calendar and explained why.

Yep, in terms of performance it is always kinda the same rumor, maybe no one knows.
But yes, engine is 1.5s slower today than others, so then they should be 1s, and by 2027 maybe only 0.5

HRC Sakura is Honda's four-wheel/F1 development center, and it is where the current F1 power unit is developed and manufactured. Honda says HRC Sakura is responsible for the F1 PU development, while HRC overall handles development, manufacturing and racing operations.

HRC Asaka — Asaka, Saitama
This is the traditional motorcycle racing headquarters. HRC was originally established in Asaka in 1982 for motorcycle racing development. MotoGP/Honda motorcycle racing engineering remains centered in Japan.

Under the same HRC organization since 2022.

HRC UK — Milton Keynes, England
Honda established HRC UK in 2024 specifically for the F1 program. It handles things such as:
  • F1 power-unit maintenance
  • race/trackside operations
  • logistics
  • European operations
  • engineering/technical support
  • PR/administrative functions
All of the Honda engineers that left for RB were in the UK and none of them had anything to do with Honda's R&D cause all of that is done in Japan.

Honda has moved experienced racing personnel/resources around HRC, including MotoGP expertise being used to reinforce the F1 project.

That article is dated. Asaki in his latest column 2 days ago stated the young engineers will be tasked to continue developing the current year PU and utilize the ADUO allowance of extra spending and dyno time. Don't use motorsport's article as the end-all of what Honda is doing. They have two working groups developing the power units. Honda F1 website recently stated:

"With maturiy and updates, there is a possibility of shifts in the power landscape in the second half of the season, and the Dutch GP is expected to mark the beginning of that shift."

Very big chance that both cars start at the back due to penalties, you mean  . Regardless results this year are a bit irrelevant.

Orihara:
“In Hungary, we saw a step forward with the new chassis. With the new specification power unit now introduced, we look forward to building on that progress together with the team over the remainder of the season.”
This sounds way more like optimising the engine over the races rather than a second ADUO.

If it rains, it will be fun to see how much they progress from the back in the new package.
