This sh*tshow are here for 5 years. I have missed several GP's this year. My 1st in 42 years.

From fanatical fan to casual observer.
it is not really possible to follow this any more, you can only observe, and, coincidentally, that is what producers of this and any other entertainment seem to want from their audience - us swallowing anything they present
Bingo.
It's not really in the drivers hands anymore.
It just depends on deployment shenanigans.
Nobody with any sporting integrity wants that.
For the time being, the sport, or sporting aspect to be exact, is essentially dead.
Watching F1 since 1986.

Zandvoort must be a nice track to drive, but that's really about it. No tire deg, no passing opportunities, nothing

Worst sprint race I have ever seen and also they really need to scrap the start procedure before the red lights come up, every team clearly has this sorted now and its been that way for a few races now.

Can’t remember seeing such a boring race for quite some time.

Kick in the teeth being the rain coming 5 mins too late.

The cars look fantastic here, and the onboards are amazing. It’s impossible to overtake though, overtake mode is useless.

Leclerc had a single overtake due to Norris having a deployment mistake. I don't remember seeing any other overtake the entire race.

But it was not boring?

If they had delayed the start by 2 minutes this would have been an all time classic sprint.

It would still have been boring for 22 or 23 laps.

Maybe fun chaos at the end and I would have loved to see it in these lower stakes of a sprint, but unfortunately we missed out.

Good effort from Hamilton at the end. He’s been slower than Leclerc all weekend.

Surprising that most were still finding time with the rain coming down at the end.

Yeah but, IIRC, it was by like 0.1s, right? From what I remember watching, almost all team mates were within 0.1s from each other, or thereabouts. But the key thing here is that even Tsunoda and Lawson were 0.1s slower, ie, they stepped into a car they never drove before with only 1 Practice and very limited sets of tyres and are immediately on pace :!: What does that tell us about F1 now ?

Last year, Lawson was like 1s slower than VER despite doing pre season testing and etc. Now he´s keeping up just like Hadjar has been. The driving challenge aspect of F1 is almost dead now

The issue of Max's team mates failing at Red Bull was entirely for the fact that the previous cars were exclusively built for his driving style. The new gen cars are in some way, moved away from those specific elements that gave Max the strength. Hence, his team mates are now closer, including Hadjar. It wasn't that they were bad drivers. The current gen cars are obviously not what instinctive drivers want, but there is still racing element in them. Blaming the new regs for reduced gap between Max and his team mates now, is too simplistic.
