The deg seems not too bad, compared to McLaren.

Seems very inconsistent pace wise, now struggling again

Tyre deg something to build on, just need a bit more pace in general.
No need so sacrifice race pace for quali later with not much to gain on the grid.
Maybe a top 4 tomorrow if things go well...

The bigger problem is how bad the car is following the car in front, MCL, FER and MERC can sit behind the car infront for the whole stint.

In the end Max had very strong pace, maybe comparable to the fastest car.

I think it was a good choice to already ditch one of the hard tyres yesterday.
This looks like a soft/medium race especially with the weather around here.

That's just Zandvoort. Max couldn't get past because he didn't have the pace delta required.

Pace delta was definitely the big problem but also the tires were overheating much more, Max could only stay under 1sec for like 3-4 laps then had to drop back, Antonelli for eg. was on Leclerc's tail for the whole race, no problem.

Max is compensating for a lack of downforce so obviously it gets a bit sensitive in dirty air.

That being said, if Oscar hadn't been in the way I think Max could have matched Russell for pace here bar the first 5 laps. Those first laps show me there is a raw pace deficit and that Max is learning how these tyres like to be managed early.

P7 is the pace of the car. Lawson much closer than expected, just a tenth off, solid effort.

Feels like they suffered in comparison to the others with only one warm up lap except the Ferraris.
Anyway, could be an interesting race

0.4s off is probably the correct deficit of the car from the fastest, even though they never seemed to get on top of tyre prep for qualy, Max was complaining about low temps and lack of rear.

MCL and FER had sizeable updates this week, Mercedes being so fast even without any is impressive.

P7 and P8 kills any hope of an exciting race, positions will only be gained/lost at the start and pits.

They gambled, they expected it rain more, Ferrari got a bit lucky in the end. It was already spitting when Max started his final lap, those who went before had the best conditions.
