Looks like they closed on laptime but everyone else also improved, BOT only 1.7 sec away and Alonso 1.0 sec away from top.

I am confused whether we improved when compared to Hungary or not relative to others.

ALO could have easily gone to Q2, but the outlap and traffic... meh...
Team Fernando!

Not that bad,I mean 1 sec from p1 ,thats very good compare before the upgrades! The car not easy to drive ,but big wind in Netherlands. Race pace will be better than Haas and Williams for sure .
Aston Martin's race is ruined by having to be stuck behind them through one pitstop cycle.

Hopefully they can get past the 2 Williams on the start.

Looking at Q2 times, looks like track was ramping up hugely. Last lap of Q1 was critical to make it.

Irregardless of car performance. This team is abysmal from an operational standpoint and hasn’t improved in years. Letting ocon go through to deal with that

I do not think they anticipated Ocon driving so slowly on the out lap and blocking to prevent Alonso from warming up his tyres properly.

The engine upgrade if it worked it improved the car in race pace much more than qualifying.

Honda has been a bit of a disappointment so far. Not saying it to stoke infighting or anything, at all, and they may very well improve but just the cold truth right now. Not really delivering what was expected compared to the chassis. Both ALO and STR (and even SAI) saying on the chassis side they are good but are lacking on the straights, so it's the weakest link atm.

I want to know whether the rumour is true that Honda only unlocked part of the upgrade, and if so, why not all at once and work out the engine mappings as they go?

We need to wait, they need more time to assemble everything. The real potencial we will see 2 or 3 races ahead. They finally improve and they have a right path. The fact that they can build the 2027 car at a measured pace, on the right path to development, with their facilities fine-tuned, and have a decent pre-season will already be a huge advantage. I’m confident about 2027 be much better.

I wouldn't be surprised that they are being conservative with rolling out the power. Plus they need to adjust the regen capabilities. This will all become obvious as it plays out over the races to come. We don't need to sit here and guess about it.

I don't believe them. Besides, the gap dropping to 1 second in qualifying is a huge improvement in two races. I think they're using all of it. If they had half or 10 hp, as they say, they would be at the top.

Unfortunately, we might not know anything until they return to Spain. Monza is too much of an outlier.

Reading both the drivers comments it doesn't look like they are holding down on engine power. So May be 2-3 tenths more can be extracted by improving drivability and software.
