Kimi did a horrible S1, over one tenth slower than first Q3 run, could have been on pole. Anyway if they can finish ahead of Ferraris tomorrow it'll be a very good result. The car is still quick but desperately needs upgrades.
I did see a report from James Allison that said they found over 1 second of lap time, and I believe it since everyone has been gaining performance rapidly with even the smallest upgrades.
one package worth 1s ? well, hardly believable, but even half of that would be super for them. I read they are trying to bring it to Sepang, which means "damage limitations" for 4 races. In Monza Ferrari will have ADUO2 PU, and Kimi will get penalty for new PU (with ADUO ?), perfect execution will be a must for next GPs.

Allison estimates that rival teams are progressing at roughly the same extraordinary rate of half a second every two months. That means a single upgrade cycle can dramatically alter the competitive order.

5 tenths every 2 months and if you add it all up, that's 1 full second once we hit Sepang and that's not counting the ADUO.

They could gain an almost monumental 1.2 seconds of lap time in the next 2 months, which would really not go down well with the other teams.

Motorsport Italy
If the package we talked about arrives in a few races’ time, the power unit upgrade — made possible by the first ADUO evaluations — will be introduced at Monza.

Wolff confirmed that Antonelli will get it and will therefore start from the back of the grid in front of his home fans. “The power unit upgrade, as we said, will arrive at Monza. And that’s exactly why Antonelli will start from the back. Of course, it’s an unpleasant situation.”
