Lando is 83 points behind Antonelli at the moment and if I'm correct we have 9 or 10 races to go. If Mclaren is still best at Monza do you think he can still make a comeback?
It would require great pace and a lot of luck. But if Ferrari improves their pace they could start to finish ahead of Mercedes. If that happens and McLaren is fastest then points swing will be much bigger.

No surprise McLaren is getting better and better. More to come in the future. Super tech team.

 Lando in the cool down room saw the Mercedes swap on the screen said "What a move!"
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

It is to be expected mate. Mercedes is not gonna make the same mistakes as Mclaren of 2025 and will protect Antonelli's advantage.

What a race and result. Great work by Lando. I know he applauded the strategy team but the real reason for the victory is Landos pace when Antonelli went to the pits and then amazing pace in last stint.

Hopefully McLaren can improve the set up for later today and tomorrow but I fear we might have seen the highlight of our season at the last race.
Hello there.

For a moment i was surprised that McLaren had the balls to switch strategy. My option was Lando on Mediums and Oscar on hards. I was ok also with Soft an Hards. But the miracle lasted until Oscar stop. Except was long they threw away the initial idea. So bad.
The issue is that Piastri just can't keep tires alive or judge their durability. He said his hards didn't feel better than mediums (durability wise). This is a major issue for McLaren as it usually makes sense to put the second driver on long hail mary strategies.

Why take PIA in when the hard pace was very very solid. Let the offset build
He is just not the guy to nurse tires.
I was waiting for this
Looks like they improved the set up- really well!! =P~

It was great work by the team to dial in the engine and the car. Great work by Lando to nab the win.

Imola will now offer a litmus test with big straights and long corners and a supremely heavy braking zone.

How will the upgrades fare...

Imola?…. Monza?

Yea big test in Monza. Mclaren seem to be the quickest in the high speed corners so the Lezmos, the Ascari chicane and parabolica could be good for them. Just depends on how good the Maclarena wing is for top speed.

Yeah Monza lol

It's not a track I think will suit us as much as the last two, pre upgrades.

Particularly with straight line speed and our gears, which suit the stop start tracks, not long, flowing high speed tracks. The car also seems better when the car needs to be agile at tbe front, maybe not so great when rear limited.

Corner entry at T1 will be a test.

For all the amazing work Zak has done bringing back the team from the dead, filling the car with sponsors, delivering 3 titles and most importantly, instilling a wonderful culture of papaya rules......bro really really needs to reconsider who he hangs out with

Another happy sunday thanks to our development team, great recovery from the start of the season!

One thing puzzles me atm, Piastri's gap to Lando is very small (Norris ahead by 0.078s) at Quali but comes the race and he seems completely lost, without pace.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

This Mclaren isn't as kind on tyres, which mitigated a flaw of his.
