From what i understand is the tyres were all falling off the cliff at random times, its likely oscar pushed on his 1st hard stint considering this was when he seemed his quickest and had no tyre left, compounded by russell pitting, mclaren pitted oscar to protect his position.

When Russel pitted, they just asked him “plan A or B?”
Piastri just said he can't last his tires till target and he pushed the pit confirm button…

Not gonna lie, I thought this would have been another Lando Norris special, i.e, lose a race from P1 because of a bad start.

But the pace has been phenomenal on the second half. Again.
Doesn't redeem the start in my opinion, he has to fix that at some point because it almost cost him two wins between Budapest and here.

Might be AI that caused a problem. Who knows with these engines.

The issue is that he’s so afraid of offending Oscar that he can’t bring himself to praise Lando.

This weekend Rosberg had to force him to acknowledge how good Lando has been, and he still made it about the fact that Lando is good in these conditions (not in general)

If you watch the second start on his driver feed, you can hear the engine revs start to drop as soon the red lights start counting. You could clearly hear him try to keep the revs up and they kept dropping. I knew his start was toast with the third red light went on. Losing only 1 place was actually not that bad, all considering.
