ADUO only counts the ICE, so if you have 40hp less there, you also have less power to use to recharge and deploy with the battery and MGU-K, etc. Some people talk about the overall PU and others about the ICE when talking power numbers.

fia has already confirmed that ferrari audi and honda have pu deficit over 4 percent but less than 10 percent and with that will get 2 additional homologations in 2026 and 2 in 2027, together with corresponding cost cap and dyno testing increases.so the number that the italian publication does not match up to facts only gullible people would believe them.the mguk does not produce any power it only harvest and deploy so crank power from engine is still king.if honda was missing 70hp they would have qualified for more development opportunities .these point has already been raised before.fia is monitoring perfomance between pu and making them public so the era of media making up bs is over.
The FIA has only confirmed that Honda has a deficit higher than 4% and therefore qualifies for two additional homologations in 2026 and 2027, but not in which exact bracket it falls, it could theoretically be more than 10% (even though I doubt it)
At 10% they would qualify for 4 ADUO updates, instead of 2.
That’s incorrect.

Above 4%, they get 2 ADUOs for this season and 2 for the next season, regardless of whether they have a deficit above 10%.

BUT… there are additional tiers for cost cap allowances that can go up to ≥10% deficit for the maximum cost cap allowance related to ADUO engine upgrades.

The problem is that the exact deficit percentages for each manufacturer are strictly confidential, so we don’t know the actual figures.

They could do with a spinning around rear wing for Monza, especially as they're down on power. Wonder if that seemingly extravagant actuator shape will be put to real use this weekend! Having said that, anyone who has introduced one seems to have had a few goes at it, so a debut at Monza could be considered a bit scary.

Like with the Hungary update, if a macarena wing does arrive, I am sure that Newey went through ample checks to make sure it works correctly.

This is a minefield because honestly, I was always under the impression any recharge deficiencies due to the ICE being down on power was resulting in less deployment time for the MGU-K, not really less deployment power. So always pictured their total power deficiency to really be from the ICE only.

For them to only be able to use a deployment strategy where they can't even afford to reach the allowed 350kW at any point, would imply their regen capacity is FAR FAR poorer than expected. Much worse than a 40-50hp ICE deficit should imply.

That was supposed to be the limitation with SPEC 1. The limitation is fixed. It will get better with SPEC 2 as they fix the drivability.

New lighter gearbox for Madrid
Yep, someone was asking about the gearbox, reportedly it arrives in Madring. With a bit of luck I hope it won't be the only thing that weekend...

It is just the casing right as opposed to any internals?

Exactly, if the Honda ICE is down 40hp which seems likely, the overall PU might effectively be 70hp down in certain parts of the circuit, depending on energy requirements. Monza I think will be such a circuit as it is an energy starved track, which is why I expect Kimi to rocket through the field and be in the top 5 at the end, unless he has an issue of some kind. Can Aston Martin be within 10kmh of the top speed of Redbull and Mercedes, with this revised B spec car and engine? If not it will be a painful afternoon to watch for sure. Does anyone know if Aston are bringing a Macarena wing for Monza, or another track specific upgrade package?

Some rumors says that total HP deficit is now 90HP
And upgrade bringed 11hp for now (still 10+ to deliver)

Making the deficit of 100hp at start of season

I don’t really believe it. But for sure Monza will be painful like Spa I believe

You'd think that if you build a gearbox for the first time, every part of it could be a little more robust that need be, not just the cassette. The outer gearbox case, which is structural to the chassis, has already been updated.

🚨BREAKING | There will be NO more upgrades to the AMR26!

🗣️ Enrico Cardile has confirmed as much:

❌ "No more aerodynamic developments will come in the rest of the season"

👉 "Around Baku we should be very, very close to the weight limit and that will be the car's final version"

⚠️ "The 2027 car will be an evolution of the current concept but it will be a COMPLETELY NEW car"

Excited about upgrades? It's been put to bed. May be engine optimisation and weight reduction gives 0.5 sec more.

That isn't breaking news, it was announced before the summer break.
