How many PU has Lando used so far this season? Will he have to take a penalty if he wants to get the upgraded ADUO PU once Merc introduce it?
3 so far so I believe he won’t.

Search- the awesome contributor that they are, has provided us with a full list of parts in the Italian GP race thread.

It will be a massive test of Mercs integrity if Lando is within striking distance of the WDC and they allow McLaren to use an ADUO upgraded PU penalty free but their own drivers have to take a grid penalty to use the same said PU.

However McLaren may wish to introduce a new PU this weekend thus making my integrity question irrelevant
Is there an upgrade Merc PU? From what I understand, Kimi’s new PU will not be a new spec

This weekend it’s a non upgraded PU for Kimi but I believe Kimi himself has said to get the upgraded PU (supposedly sometime in October) he will have to take another penalty. I don’t have a source but I think I saw the speculation in the Merc thread:

The team seems to be competitive in FP1 so far and I don't notice any drag deficit yet. I have no idea though who is pushing more in terms of engine or how much of a difference can different tyres do in Monza (Ferrari uses Hards, we and Mercedes use Mediums).

After FP1 ended we seem to be a bit on the back foot but no idea who is pushing and who's going conservative considering the strain on the engine here is a lot. I believe the team will show much more later in FP2.

Slightly concerning that Lando didn’t improve his laptime after 2 push laps on his soft run….

I don't think FP1 was so representative. We are gonna see much more in FP2.

25 laps per driver, a lot of flow-vis on the rear for both cars, new H wing on Lando's car vs old RW mechanism for Oscar, data gathering, some small gravel touches, very hot at Monza (+30°C in the air), overall imo was a good FP1, we are not far away, and my estimation is H wing will be on both cars for the rest of the weekend.

He didn't really push at all. He didn't even improve his medium time. Neither driver did

2 more points for the team after the Monaco verdict! Every point counts even if it's a long shot

Norris LR 26.577
Piastri LR 26.683

Fastest LR Antonelli 26.485 (similar to Leclerc and faster than Russell).

Let's see FP2.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

The car was fast on mediums, it just didn't look like they had good setup for softs. Plenty of time to figure it out.

Ah, so to take Mercs ADUO upgraded PU the McLaren boys have to take a penalty too

Stella said in the press conference:
"I think if we can do well here, in Monza, if we can fight for podiums here then who knows, championship may be open, we know we lost a lot of points in the first part not only for performance but also for reliabiliity, this can happen to anybody so we have to stay there and make sure that every single weekend we do our best."

At the moment we are 3 tenths off the best time as Mercedes and the upgraded Ferrari seem to have the upper hand.

On F1TV before FP2 they said Ferrari told them they ran the engine harder (to test it out).

Mercedes looks fastest to me, especially Antonelli. Luckily he'll start from the back.
