Spa was 3.91% away from the lead in Q1, Monza (probably even worse of a circuit) was 3.07% despite not a clean session, so there was improvement at least. More is needed obviously.

Honestly, this reminds me of 2014, except this time Mercedes is being more stealth in holding back the power of that engine. The fact that they have ADUO when their engine is clearly better than everyone's is testament how well they play the political game.

Mercedes haven't used their ADUO. Everybody can upgrade their PU before 2027. So it gives a little more freedom in what they can do.

Think the lesson here is that with less power they obliterated RBR. It's the better chassis that has them on top.

I know Honda have a terrible engine this year and progress looks... sedate..., but McLaren were +20s, Alpine +27s, Williams +74s to Mercedes in the race. Tricky.
