Its quite a clever post. It will piss off the Merc. top people that their engine is beat by an energy drink supplier. One of the reasons that Toto already said that Merc. has the best engine. With this post emphasizing that RB has the best engine might make it possible to have some ADUO changes.
Lol. So much hopium.
The FIA folds on a royal flush.

How are you going to approach the weekend before the Spanish Grand Prix?

Max: “There is a lot to learn, so the free practice sessions are crucial. Hopefully, we get a good feeling with the car. If you have a good feeling with the car, you should be a bit more competitive, and hopefully that puts us in a fight for the podium.”
Why is this guy still hoping for a podium on this track :wtf: There's a lot of slow corners but they need the car to ride well over the kerbs to gain laptime something this car hasn't been good at, I'm expecting 4th fastest car nothing more.

The FIA results that emerged in Monte Carlo regarding the performance of the various endothermic engines were clear, for those who had forgotten them: the difference between the Ferrari ICE and the Mercedes ICE was between 6 and 8%, in terms of hp between 35 and 40 hp, a gap that is far from negligible in a regulation that has made the engine even more central than in the past. As we anticipated, the step forward of Ferrari's new engine specification would not have closed the gap with the Mercedes engine, rather getting closer while still remaining distant. And after the race came Vasseur's direct confirmation: "We didn't expect to close the gap with ADUO 1 and ADUO 2," he said, before adding: "Of course, the goal is to close the gap as quickly as possible. But I didn't expect to close the gap to Mercedes in two months."

At Ferrari they don't even take the FIA measurements seriously. Red Bull is not the benchmark ICE. One can repeat the FIA's nonsense until you turn blue, it still won't be true.
The FIA isn’t lying to anyone. The teams agreed on a sh*tty measurement methodology for the overall performance classification and now they have to deal with the consequences of that decision for at least this season.
Teams also agreed on the sh*tty 50/50 power split. Was it only after 2 races that they decided to change it to 60/40 for 2027? The FIA may not be lying, but they're still incompetent, ignorant, and possibly under Mercedes/Toto's thumb, because they can change the rules anytime they want, that's they keyword, 'when they want', because it doesn't make sense that they know since Monaco the ADUO is unfair to RedBull, and still haven't decided to do anything about it, not even for next year, let alone this year.

This a brand new track and Max is the best driver, that will count for a lot here.

He nearly got pole in Monaco so I think there is a chance for a good result here.

Typically in 2026, before a race weekend, what Max says on Thursday v/s where Max ends up on Sunday (unless there is a DNF or a mega screwed up start) :
"difficult track for us, will struggle to finish ahead of midfield" --- P6-P7
"others have updates, we are not competitive to achieve podium" --- P4-P5
"not sure about podium chances, we are 4th fastest, we need to get setup right" --- P3 or podium, best case P2 with bad luck to other top cars.
"hopefully puts us in a fight for podium" ---- never said this in 2026 so far. Something might be cooking.

I don’t get all these people here acting as if RedBull can do anything about it when they have the best ICE under the currently agreed and approved measurement process. It was calculated twice at RedBull’s request for a review and the same result appeared. Horner wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it either, except being more snarky in the paddock.
I don't think it is a good argument. It was clear what the intention was with ADUO and it also became crystal clear that they are not achieving that with current setup. If anything they go against their original goal.
Sticking to the method after seeing it doesn't work is just moronic. It is not a cult or religion.

It is the nature of creating something, you try a way, see how it works, then adjust and repeat.

The car looks quite nice in terms of balance, seems like a good starting point

Looks like it's destroying the tyre.

Couldn't follow live timing closely, was it this bad?

Anyone has an idea what this could be?
If it would be simple wear and tear then they could name the part and probably could have fixed it by now.
But what else can cause performance loss over time?

It can't even be fuel level --> weight distribution related as it happens in qualy from Q1 --> Q2 --> Q3 but the fuel level should be more or less the same there.

0,4 sec off in FP2 seems good for them looking at this season.
High fuel runs also improved, not Mercedes Level but seemed better than Ferrari and Piastri

High fuel runs are difficult to judge, Mercedes, HAM and MCL on mediums whereas MAX and LEC were on softs.

I'd say he might have been marginally faster than LEC, even though both had lots of traffic.

Qualy will still be hard, P5 looking likeliest atm, maybe if they improve their deployment they could fight Ferrari's.

Deg looked much better on the soft in Q2. He was sticking in Leclerc’s dirty air on the same tyre. Won’t matter unless they’re in the right spot on the grid though.

Deg will matter only if you have to pit once and others have to pit twice, massive delta due to high deg will be the only way overtakes will happen, otherwise qualy will dictate positions. Not expecting massive deg seeing how much most teams improved from P1.
