No updates listed for AMR, is the lighter gearbox arrived yet..
I do not think Aston Martin have to declare lighter parts if its shape is still the same.
Sorry not picking on you....

You can't just update the gearbox to make it lighter, tge rules prevent that. It can only be updated for reliability. Even then it's complicated.

Interesting article https://f1chronicle.com/f1-gearbox-rule ... mandatory.

"This dual function means that the gearbox design cannot be optimized purely for transmission performance without regard to its structural role, and the structural requirements it must meet are among the factors that determine how much scope the team has to minimize its mass. A lighter gearbox casing that meets the transmission requirements but not the structural requirements is not compliant, since both sets of requirements are mandatory. The structural tests that verify the gearbox casing’s integrity as a chassis member are part of the homologation process, and changes to the casing that affect its structural performance require the same retesting that would be required for equivalent changes to any other certified structural component."
No, it is OK. I appreciate learning about the minute details in the rules. So a lighter gearbox under the guise of "reliability" reasons would have to be crash tested for structural integrity because it anchors the chassis?

Did Honda run the engine in a reserved setting. Didn’t 40kmh slower than Audi in speed trap
Apparently Honda has doubts about lubrication in the big corner so they started conservative

Alonso influence in F1 is amazing.
After this Honda will have no excuses anymore, they basically have open budget to fix the engine.

Juan Montoya said yesterday that he thinks Alonso has already signed for next year and they just haven't announced it. He didn't say why they haven't announced it but I think you can guess as to why they haven't.
That’s the only possible explanation, and it fits with the current driver market. I agree.

Once again, Honda is the only one taking additional precautions. It’s clear that this engine design should go straight to the scrap heap.

Newey’s anger in Australia is making more and more sense... And who knows how many things we never found out about!

I think you're making a real big deal out of nothing. It's FP, that's what it's for, PRACTICE! Nobody is going flat out in FP1, despite what you say. Nobody wants to hit a wall and then miss the remainder of FP1 and FP2. nobody wins any points in FP1.

Not expecting anything from qualy trim. Just wondering how race trim will
Go since it’s kind with tyre degradation

Alonso got stuck behind Albon in the last sector. The Williams is significantly slower in the last sector that the AMR26. If you use Alonso's personal best in S3, his last lap would have been about .6 faster. I think he had another .2 on top of that in him, for a total of .8 faster. I think he could of run a 1:35.9. That would have put 15th, between Colapinto and Bearman.
Let's see what we can gain overnight, in setup and drivability.

In Q1 it might come down to getting a clean lap to get into Q2.

So what do you think is different about race trim vs quali? The only thing that can be changed after qualification starts is front wing angle and tire pressure and, of course, the amount of fuel in the car. Cars are under parc ferme rules after the start of qualification and settings can't be changed for the race.

Diff at max speed is 19kph(329kph vs 310kph) Audi-Hulk
