I think we only saw half of it in Monza. They unleashed the dragon only for some laps, once Ant was near P5 they already turned it down. The overtake on Piastri, who himself had some slipstream and overtake mode, was just a joke in terms of performance difference. He was faster than Rus while in traffic, with up to 1.5sec...

Yes. We will have the deployment of Silverstone within three corners. So everyone will be highly energy limited until turn 3. Everything will depend on pure ERS storrage and how much you can charge into T1. I think Merc will excell by far, very similar to Monza where they just dusted everyone who resisted into T1 afterwards in Curva Grande.

Now is a chance for Russell to force Antonellie into a DNF.

Unfortunately the move of Ver to Merc did not happen. Now Rus will be a nice Nr2 and Ant will drive to 2-4 WDCs. Could have been awesome. I am happy for Ant, but there is no tension in WDC for at least another year.

Would be quite something for Merc to hang on at the front for one more race while they're waiting for the Malaysia updates.

McLaren could be very formidable indeed.

Agree. The margins will close up but Merc are seriously impressive in S3.

quite shocked at how this under-developed car is still so fast....around Budapest/Zandvoort it seemed that they would have been eaten by McLaren and Ferrari, instead they got a dominant win in Monza, a very good performance in Madrid and now domination in Baku quali.....cannot imagine when they will bring their big upgrade in Malaysia.

congrats to George, amazing lap; I think it's a no brainer to fit a new engine on Kimi's car.

That middle sector was outrageous.

Will be interesting to see the sector split times, but something like 0.450 seconds faster than his previous best.

Edit.... 0.2 faster in Sector 2. Sector 3 an (ironic) tow from Hadjar....
