Yeah but despite not doing anything special, his lap was still 0.5s than Hamilton, which has not happened much with the current car, this year. When a driver is a specialist on a given circuit, even a "normal" lap will be very fast. His S3 was yellow, IIRC , and that was really poor because I think they planned for Hamilton to give him a tow but I guess it was too far away
Baku qualifying was a lottery with tire temperature, tows, misbehaving PUs, and yellow flags. There is no real reason for there to be 0.5 second gaps between teammates. It's furthermore contradictory to the season averages.
