The problem, that they Still testing, not upgrading, they can't even finish races while other teams since April just upgrading...We cant talk about the chassis how good or bad if 90hp behind (if not more since the last data)

This engine / PU is a disaster and there is no way that Honda can fix this by next season as this Spec 2 unit is just as bad as the Spec 1 unit. Aston have improved the car which I think is now ahead of Audi and about equal to Alpine. Not the best, but closer to the top 4 teams for sure than at the start of the season. If they had the Mercedes PU they would be fighting to be the 5th best team and closing in on Red Bull, which is still not good enough. The AMR 27 needs to be a significant step up from the current car, but if they continue with this Honda debacle they can write off 2027 as well. That is why I hope Williams agrees to swap engines so Aston can take the Mercedes unit for next year. Otherwise there is zero point in watching this green turd burger circle around for 20 laps, 3 seconds off the pace. Stroll SR must be doing everything he can to ditch this Honda contract and hopefully the FIA are assisting him.

I find this 'chassis is really good, ahead of Audi, equal to Alpine' claim to be preposterous. Please submit proof in the form of data or video or something to support this claim, otherwise please dont make such ridiculous 'I have a feeling' claims. With such a poor PU, the chassis is not even getting pushed to its operational limits. There is no way to make a judgement about the chassis or for the engineers to expose it's limitations and solve them, without the chassis being exposed to lateral/longitudinal loads that other cars on the grid are getting subjected to.

- first chassis was crap like the engine
- then the B version since Hungary seemed like a real finished 2026 f1

BUT. Without a proper engine they can’t really push it, develop it and so on.

So the engine is a disaster, plus, it prevents progress on the chassis’ side as well

Now we know that in 2030 they will have new cars and engine so they really need to think hard at Aston about their future plan, and also Honda. Do they want to stay ? Being in f1 is 100% bad for Honda, making them look like losers.
It is amazing for me how can some VP at Honda agrees to be in F1. Bad marketing when they are doing bad engine, and if engine good enough they are invisible and get nothing.

What I’d most like to know is whether Honda knows where they’re headed with the 2027 engine so it can get closer to the others — something like: “We can have an engine as good as Ferrari’s, we know what went wrong because we underestimated the 2026 project, and we’re already making changes for the 2027 project; we just can’t improve this year because the current project is limited” — or whether they’re truly lost, have no idea what to do, and next year is going to be depressing all over again.

Last they claimed they expected to be competitive with Mercedes by 2028. Whether that was grounded in reality is unknown.
