Just a few days ago Button announced McLaren's Valencia testing schedule to be Feb 1 - Pedro, Feb 2 Lewis, Feb 3 Jenson..

So what who runs Feb 1st for McLaren now?

A few days ago they confirmed Paffet as a test driver. That's when I though Pedro is set to move.

I wonder who is paying for Pedro's race-seat, a special EU-fund perhaps? Nah, Hinwil is in Switzerland, right?

Pedro apparently was on good terms with Repsol previously. not sure how that relationship did while he was testing/driving/testing a Mobil-lubricated McLaren tho..

I would assume that Kubica wants a new yard stick to gauge against, and that Quick Nick would prefer a new fiddle to second for.

Not the best overall feeling about this lineup under Ranault. Seems like bad chemistry, as neither driver has Renault as choice #1 I think.

I appologise about the spelling. Long Spanish names arnt my speciality. I also get cought out with Kovalinenn as well on occasion. Once again im sorry, and hope i can learn fast, as the season is coming fast.

Back On Topic:

Bad decision by Sauber, De La Rosa taken over Fisichella??? Id take Fisi every time.

Altho, if he is bringing Repsol, i think it means that he could be gringing a good high profile sponsor to the team. Meanins that Repsol arnt really intrested in Campos as they once were alleged to be. It surprises me that Spanish companys like Repsol and Telefonica arnt looking at getting together with Campos, whitch really worrys me for that young flegling team.

Pedro is back racing, according to Autosport, with BMW Sauber for 2010. this drops hopes of Fisichella for the seat.....
If this is true (which it appears to be).
Peter has backed the wrong horse from purely a racing point of view. IMHO

For me, I would take De La Rosa, not as a racer but because he is probably one of the best test drivers around at the moment! He wont set the world alight but he wont go to far wrong and for a "come back" season for Sauber i think that a good choice. Lets not forget some things about Fisi, For 2 years the guy drove the Championship winning car but was not really in with a shot for the championship. Also and this is my main bug bare, Last year he has by FAR the fastest car at Spa, but he messed it up, Yes the Ferrari had the "go faster" button, but Fisi car was alot quicker.

Give the money and the choice in my first season back in F1, I would go with De la Rosa.

I won't judge fisichella on the F60, looking on his FI performaces, they weren't so bad.
http://www.formula1.com/results/driver/2009/17.html

His finishing positions are mostly better than his grid start position. Sometimes he is awfully close to the top 8. I really feel he would have been a better choice for the Sauber team; he would also be able to help Kobayashi when it comes to the actual racing. No offence to de la rosa in that respect, but Fisi has many years of F1 racing experience to show Kobayashi the ropes. Fisi is much faster and can actually contest for those precious top 10 spot points.
I also feel Kobayashi will blow de la rosa away after about 6 races.

Further more, Sauber gets really annoying with it's late season charges. The car always gets very competitive when it doesn't matter anymore, check out 2009, the cars were quick in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. PDR will only continue that tradition, help develope for the end of season but have nothing to show early out when it matters. Unless Sauber is thinking about the 2011 car i don't see the reason for picking PDR, especially this late when he won't be able to relay much info for the first few races.

One thing that puzzles me is McLaren test driver in Ferrari powered car. Where's Islam to say Ferrari are cheating?

Of course they are cheating, they will probably waterboard him for McLaren information.

Sauber just effed up big time... Heidfeld was the best available driver(and he knows the team)... hope he lands the Renault seat... it would be cool to watch him whoop Kubica AGAIN.

Pedro would have been a better fit at Campos, but maybe he saw they were having problems. PDLR might be out of that seat by mid season if he cant beat Kobay, but Kobay is still a bit of an unknown.

dlr was not performing that bad in 2006 replacing montoya ...but then he came in with thousands of testmiles under his belt in that car and still only made 19points when montoya who got the axe achieved 26 before...and Kimi 60somethings..in the same car!No wonder they took Hamilton.
what really worries me is :koba had Trulli to gouge against so he had an idea of where to look for the speed...but what happens when teammate is not the top performer?will this affect him?

He prefers odd numbers?

There we were thinking that he forced his team to give him the lead driver status. In reality he simply liked the shape of an odd number. Its rather sweet.

If I was Nico, I ask for surname alphabetical order ;)

I wonder if Lewis will have a sudden affinity for odd numbers and ask Jenson if he'll be a sweetie and do a swapsie with him? That'll work in Jenson's favour because Lewis has always been terrible in a car with number 1 on the nose.
