Ferrari F10

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I think this Santander logo looks a bit like a steaming pile of dung. Very fitting.

Nose look very RB5 like, which might not be a bad thing cause they were the fastest car without the double diffuser.

I think we have a new to term to apply here. this is how Red Bull laid the nose out on their RB5, its what Newey calls a "V" nose, which is a workaround the minimum cross section rules for the nose box. basically the sides of the rectangular nose are raised up (hence the humps on the top of the nose) and thus theres a drooped bottom to the nose. This is an aero thing, to get more flow between the front tyres, but has the advantage of making the lower wishbones longer for less equal lengths which is better for camber gain. we're going to see this on several new cars

the mounting of the rear wing is more to the front (less interference with the air comming from the diffusor??)

odd knobly bits cast into the front wheel spokes, who'd guess they have a workaround to the ban on front wheel fairings...

You'd think ferrari'd be smart enough to steal the design from someone other than USF1...

But seriously, the proportions on this car are a massive improvement in my eyes. It looks a lot more no-nonsense. Now if only we could get back the old rear wings...

Can't wait for the shakedown so we can get a look at the rear end aero.
