2.4L V8 or 2.4L V10 -which one is powerful

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

The cylinder capacity in a 2.4 V8 is the same as a 3.0 V10 BTW
so manchild dont mind i am still confused, u have said both are same and the mathematical equations u have written clearly shows they are not same
.........so y did u say they are same.........
do u mean to say the per cylinder capacity that is know.....

iam talking about the overall engine performance ..............

Cylinder capacity is the same - engine capacity isn't.

Cylinder capacity is 300 cc per cylinder on V8 and V10, while engine capacity is 2400 cc and 3000 cc

If it was V6 than it would have 6 X 300 = 1800 cc (1.8 liters) or if it was V12 it would have 12 X 300 = 3600 cc (3.6 liters).

To simplify it even further an engine (of the type we are talking about) comprises a number of cylinders from 1 (minimum requirement ;)) to whatever you want, the only limit is common sense or regulations.

The capacity of each cylinder is it's displacement - the volume measured by multiplying the area of the bore by the stroke of the crank. This is literally how much air the cylinder displaces as it moves up.

The capacity of an engine is the each cylinder displacement multiplied by the the number of cylinders.

No No.............i guess u have drifted from the question 2.4 V10 and 2.4 V8
difference , was what i started, with, not 2.4 V8 and 3 V10. that is obvious
difference. i hope u have got my question...........

Ok, 2.4L V10 would be more powerful than 2.4L V8 because it would make more rpm.

2.4L V8:

- Lighter, stiffer, more compact structure.
- Less thermal losses, due to better surface-area-to-volume characteristics with a larger cylinder.
- Less friction losses due to fewer bearings and a lower total piston ring linear length.

2.4L V10:

-higher rpm capability, due to less reciprocating mass and inertia forces (per cylinder). All other things being equal, horsepower increases proportionally with engine speed.

Take your pick.
