Mercedes GP MGP W01

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Wow what have I come back too???

Mxtifosi you are right. I cannot find the comment either.

I do see one where Brawn says he isnt "where he wants to be"(leading by a second lol)
But that situation rarely happens.

And Adam, why ask the question? No Iam not an expert, did you expect Brawn to post an answer to your reply? #-o

So to surmise then, Adam, there are no inherent concerns for the Mercedes car.

Auto Motor und Sport (German publication and very good too with google translate)
Have speculated that Mercedes may appear in Bahrain with a New diffuser, front wing sidepods AND floor! That would be an interesting development! :D

IF they work ;)

I hope for their sake the new additions work as expected.

No doubting Brawns abilities to get a team moving forward. I think their Wind tunnel has told them with a great degree of accuracy that it works.
And its obvious he doesnt want to show what he has, higher risk strategy sure, but the offshoot is that Mercedes Rivals wont have a clue what hit them until FP1 in Bahrain.
Its competitors will have had 9 weeks less time to implement any design ideas gained from copying whatever Brawn has.
I will add the caveat "If it works"

That's virtually a B-spec car. Have they been playing the make three cars trick again?

It takes a new tub to talk of a B spec car usually. What Brawn is bringing is a prepared new aero kit.Tub, engine, suspensions and gear box are all meant to stay.

Didn't McLaren do the same for the last two days of testing? I know they had a wing, engine cover and diffuser, but I thought someone mentioned that the floor was new as well.

I think they tested the the floor, front wing and diffuser together in the windtunnel. Sounds quite obvious really but I thought I would point it out.
With the high-low nose concept, and how it differs from anything out there, If they found a unique solution, everyone will be spending months playing catch up.

Brawns making em wait!!!

They certainly had a long shopping list. Williams also changed their sidepods and rear wing, at least, so yeah, I suppose it's perfectly feasible to change the whole lot at once, if you had to. Mercedes will have a very busy Friday in Bahrain, though.

So in a virtual reality we use virtual comparisons to virtually conceal what we virtually think? I rather take a real opinion.

just read this on autosport

From Planet-f1 forum:
"I have just heard on good authority that Mercesdes will be testing tomorrow at Rockingham!!! Aparently they are carrying out a shake down test of their new Diffuser (super or not)for the first Grand Prix."
