I'm afraid not, but there is a fairly simple solution fortunately

You can just upload your avatar to imageshack.us or some other image hosting service and then use the link to set your avatar.

Or if you find a cool image on google, you can resize it so it conforms to the rules and tada ... your avatar is ready
