One of the best GP I have seen, ever.

Absolutely no one should have been penalized, including Alonso (the Slo Mo showed he did not started before red lights went out)

=D> to all the drivers, woking up at 3am has never been so nice.

I agree with you - I called for side by side racing in the pitlane to be banned a couple of years ago, so I do have history on this. However your gripe is with the FIA, the rules do not prohibit this. The drivers merely race as hard as they can within the boundaries of the rules.

So yes the rules should be changed, but Lewis shouldn't be penalised for a rule that doesn't exist even if the rule should be there.
I know it doesn't prohibit side by side racing, but doesn't it say that you cannot drive down the pitlane over the first white line around the blue line separating the driving lane and the working lane? Or am I wrong and look like a complete fool? [-o< Because even if there is no rule against racing in the pit lane I think it states what is essentially my argument.

Plus I'm jumpy from reading Metro 2033. I've not read a book that made my skin crawl before so I'm a bit on edge! Safety is my occupation and in ten years and over 7000 ejections the seats and guys I work with have never caused a failure or a fatality. So i take safety very seriously.

You have a valid arguement concerning safety, however at most he will get a grid penalty next race. The man showed no intentions of hopping Vettel. To add to that, now that we have no refueling i think it was pretty safe for Lewis to toe the line at the speed he was going at.
Signalling Vettel to give some room was also an indication he was forced off.
Vettel has sour grapes from the ass whoopings.

And why hop vettel when he owns vettel's ass in the wet? He would just pass him again anyway.
about the race:
Vettel had a couple passes finally, but i saw today a boy who is not used to fighting in the middle. Alguashari has more battle scars than Vettel at the moment.
However i see that Vettel is very good in the wet when it comes to finding traction, kept the car well planted with no twitching unlike webber. He's a little short on the fighting in the wet though.
But at least we see where he stands compared to the top rung drivers like Alonso, Shumacher and Kubica. He is not top notch as yet, though he is clearly is top shelf when it comes to raw pace.
Massa was very bad today, almost felt sorry for him. Same for webber.
Alonso brushed him aside and took the reigns of the prancing horse in the pits, he was fed up following a slower, cowardly Massa in the wet. Kind of rude from alonso, but a necessary move to tie him for third.
looks like an Alonso Lewis battle for the title already.
For Sure!!

Wesley, suppose you were driving your own car. How would you react, if you saw another vehicle speeding on the pavement just next to you, desperately attempting an overtake?

You've got the same situation here. Vettel had the damn right of way and he could do whatever he wanted. Hamilton was the one 'driving on the pavement', who should have pressed the brakes and let Vettel pass.
I'm not even mentioning another incidents like overtaking with all four wheels off the track or "whooops I should've stopped, let's go through the sand".

I think the stewards really should have done something about the pit lane incident- it could have ended badly, and suppose hamilton had spun into the williams mechanics- could have been a horrific accident. And then for vettel to push hamilton into the boxes, and hamilton not to back out of it- that was just plain dangerous and certainly needs a penalty.

But the fact that everyone is arguing about it suggests that the rules regarding this are simply not clear enough. I'd support a completely ruthless enforcement of the 55m rule, including any lollipops that have been raised in that area. Any breach of the rule = instant drive through penalty.

One other thing that annoyed me was how long it took for alonso to get his penalty- Brundle saw it instantly, and with the telemetry we have it wouldn't be hard to apply it for the end of the first lap.

Driver of the day- Hamilton, some amazing passing plus good pace throughout. Shoutouts to Alguesaurus and Petrov- both impressed against the big boys.

Interesting point of the day: Red Bull get it all wrong again. A fantastic car, but somehow the drivers and the strategists keep conspiring to lose races. Does something need to change within the team, or have they just been unlucky?

Funny thing was that during the last couple of laps Senna was faster then Schumi :-)

How can that sort of rule be implemented? Two lollipop men could release their cars at the same moment. It would need some sort of electronic release system. Then a computer would only give the green light if there is no one else within 55m.

Thinking about it, that always gives the driver with the lower pit box the advantage. He gets to his pit box first, so will inevitably be released a fraction of a second earlier. That means anyone 55m ahead has to let him pass. Almost guaranteed that if 3 drivers come in order 1, 2, 3, then they will leave 3, 2, 1.

Best race of the season so far. Lots of battles.

As for the pitlane incident, I think both drivers should have been penalized (they still may be). That looked very exciting, but could so easily end in some chopped bodies all over the pitlane.
Besides I think it should be illegal to drive side by side in the pitlane (is it?). Seb abd Ham could have easily had wheel to wheel contact at any point there, and that would send Lewis's car up in the air at 100km/h with lots of people around!

Really good race!

The Alonso move on Massa was absolutely necessary for Alonso's race and his season. He basically sent a message to the Massa camp that he deserves to be #1 in that team.

The fights between Hamilton and Schumi and Hamilton and Rosberg were absoultely fantastic. Rosberg was the only driver to be able to fend off Lewis's overtaking move around turn #8 I think it was...
