Is it famous turn 8? Popular place for off road. I am very curious what will happen while they will pass it with full tank and cold tires.

Its turn 8. Massa had the same issues on fp2 at the same place like Schumi today, poor tyres...

Hey guys. Just looking for a little bit of clarification on the regs here. I know the rules as the parc ferme ones where they can't change the cars after qualy. But then, a person also told me earlier on that if the car was damaged they could replace the damaged part. Which one is true?

I ask this as it seems Vettel was having problems, either through driver error or through suspension or brakes. Either way, if it does turn out justifiably due to a damaged part, are they allowed to replace it?

yes they can replace any damaged parts, for an identical part... changing engines or gearboxes incur a penalty... I dont know about tires though

What about that anti-roll bar in Vettel's car? Let's say, (for the sake of the discussion) that it's a damaged anti-roll, and not a problem with too soft/stiff setting for it. Would they be allowed to change it for an identical spring?

The suspension worked fine for Q1 and Q2, only in Q3 did the failure show. Obviously there is something damaged and Marko said it was a shock absorber. Naturally they can replace it.

I think with the shock working, Sebastian has been fire all day since the morning and would've been probably ahead of Lewis for maybe 5 tenths or more.

downforce in S2 is still showing, but mclarens seem to be able to match redbulls in S1 and S2. As far as i am aware there was no real big changes to the car for this race but the little changes seem to be bringing some performance.

My biggest worry is both starting on the wrong side of the grid and could lose positions. Alonso and Shumi said all weekend they being trying starts from the cleaner and dirty side and for sure the clean side you can possibly jump a car 1 position ahead.

Well I don't think on Friday he was really, but on Saturday he's been on fire. Without the lockups he would've gotten Mark by 4 to 5 tenths. But all speculation. But as Vettel always says would could should isn't happening.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't one notice a breaking roll-bar (and I mean the moment it breaks)? Wouldn't there be a sudden jerk and some noise or whatever?
And that happened to a brand new car? After the old one was sorted out because of a hardly noticeable chassis issues? And just after Vettel showed that he would again dominate the whole starting field? Before he really does?

With all due respect, Vettel was 4.5 tenth faster than Webber in Q1 on primes. He was one tenth faster than Webber in Q2 on primes again and faster than his own Q3 time on options. There is very little doubt that he would have gone faster than Webber had his car been undamaged. He was just missing 5 tenth. Beating Webber by one second is unrealistic as you say, but one or two tenth would have been probable.

Vettel had Webber in check in every stint of qualifying, P1, P2 and P3 for two days.

Outisde of mechanical issues, Vettel could be psycholgically beaten when it comes to q3. Maybe he is faster in all other sessions but q3. Looking at it another way, webber could be holding back and saving for q3.
Hamilton does this whenever he is satisfied with the car. He only pushes for q3.
