There's plenty of room for Vettel on his left hand side, he's pushing Webber right. Webber gave him room, Vettel decided to try and take some more and got it wrong.

webber looking into his right side mirror ,Vettel into his left side mirror in this pic..
I dont think u can tell much from that pic - both helmet and car angles are affected by the impact.

I think given Mclarens previous, you can deduce whatever you like.
Coulthard, a McLaren vetran was equally as cynical post race.
Did you see the Whitmarsh interview...? That made me grin

About other parts of the race, Hows about Hamilton losing a spot to Vettel on the start and retaking it in turns 1-3?
How about the fight with Alonso and Petrov. Hrt and Virgin?
The race was pretty goood. It had a dead spot in the middle, but soon got exciting again after the redbull accident.
For Sure!!

All in all Horner is to blame. He flatters Vettel too much and makes him feel as if Webber is a push over, and Vettel is the heir to the redbull throne.

Serves Vettel right, webber has a 15 point gap to him, so smooth sailing for webber from now on!
Vettel is a fool. All he thinks is about himself as being the WDC... I hope he goes to Ferrari next year.

During the post race interview while Jenson was talking, Lewis asked Mark what happened. Mark demonstrated with his hands that Vettel drove into him.

I would love to be in the RB debrief. Time to hand out the boxing gloves!

Pretty impressive interview from Lewis just on BBC red button..... seems lewis was confused with why Jenson attacked after he thought theyd both been told to back off. Mixed emotions for sure on the podium trying to figure out what went on.

A very entertaining race... :D

Think that Webber's buggered his chances of staying at RB tho', I'm sure Sb is already crying that if MW stays, he's leaving, and the King Wimp Horner, will agree 100% with him

Agreed - I saw that too..... fairly conclusive what his view was.

I was wonderingwhat the hell you were talkingabout...

But I must correct myelf as well... I thought Hamilton had gotten the call to save fuel before the RBR incident but I was mistaken, that was only a call to save tires. He did not get the call to save fuel untila lap or two after the RBR incident, obviously a call from the pit wall to control the race.

But it seems Button ignored that call and attacked anyway.

F1Lite

Paddock speculation is stating that Webber was told to turn his engine down by Red Bull, while Vettel was instructed to turn his up. Hm.

Vettel became significantly faster in the 3 laps preceding the crash. Webber to journalists - "you guys need to do some digging."
quotes are from twitter...i dont like the sound of this at all

Right. He rightly squeezed, totally legit and within his range of options to win the race. He left Vettel room, and Vettel was on the outside. Vettel was trying a low percentage pass on his teammate.
What happened in the moment of the pass does not cancel that Vettel put the two of them in that position. Him too close on the outside, and Webber being put in a position to defend his position.
One lap later Vettel takes the outside on turn 11 and has nearly passed Webber onto the approach of turn 12. Webber declined to move right to the normal racing line, while Vettel tried to and hit Webber with his right rear wheel. Vettel's race was immediately ended while Webber continued for one more lap before taking on a new front wing and rejoining the race in 3rd place, 6 seconds ahead of Schumacher.
I think that's a fair assessment. It did seem pretty bad sportsmanship of Webber to go straight where he was "supposed" to go right to get into position for a left turn, more so to do it on his team mate.

Well can't blame Button for trying. I think he and shumacher are the most cunning on the grid so i expected some thing sneaky from him.
Very surprising move on Hamilton, button is paying him back for pressuring him in china.
From now on, i expect both drivers to be wary of each other and wont take cruisng together so lightly.
Massa and Alonso have always being on edge when cruising together, and Lewis and Button may adopt this kind of relationship. The gloves are off after turkey.

Speaking of shumacher, he did a pretty nice move on Button on the start. He really needs a better car, a driver like that should be fighting for the championship. Rosberg seems to be pretty quiet now.
For Sure!!

If Vettel could get close enough to Webber to attempt an overtake (and almost a clean one) without an F-duct, then is it fair to say that Hamilton could have gotten past Webber at some point if they hadn't lost 2nd place to Vettel after the pit stops ?

Defending your position without having to move has nothing to do with sportsmanship.

That was total gamemanship.

They took the car and adapted it to Michael. They probably told Rosberg to 'shut up and drive'. I sure wouldn't wanna be in Nico's shoes :-|
