I think the chimney is completly closed, and it dosen't look as though it even has the option of being open.

Thank God! I was wondering when they would get rid of that ugly little front "chin" wing and adopt the more common and better looking spoon scoop front wing.

I still find it an ugly car, the FW still looks strange, as if the spoon shape has just been "added". Imagine drawing a prefectly straight Front wing, then rubbing out the middle bit and making a deep curve. Thats all it looks like they've done.

BUT...its not like I know better than Ferrari's design team. One things for certain, this season will be better for Ferrari...much better.

After last year's humiliation, Ferrari has re-assessed everything. It appears they are not going to try anything novel in the front wing, but accept what others have found successful.
I believe the last year's front wing had the lower element crammed full of ballast, putting a lot of weight down low.

I read in Race Tech or Racecar Eng (memory deserts me) that the chin wing was the optimum solution given by C.F.D. analysis. A case of relying on computers too much? I can't say because I don't really know the first thing about C.F.D.
