Hey ppl, we all have looked at timings set by this year's HONDA (ok ranger?) and this has lead me to believe that Honda does have a pretty good car this time. I was also talking to Anthony davidson at the test and he said that the team is working really hard round the clock and really does think of itself in the championship winning league. What do u guys say? with Button having the necessary killer instinct do u think Honda can go home with the crown?
Not only have they got a good car but Davidson will be getting the team precise information for each race track on the Friday, not something speculative from a different race track a few weeks before. Friday testing is their biggest trump card in my opinion.
It would be nice to see the Honda team finally start getting wins and success. They have been hard at it, and improving a lot each year. Maybe '06 will be their breakout,, and many people will be happy.
Reubens was a great addition, his skills and expereince will lay the groundwork for the wins to come. I have no doubt Honda will see the winner's circle this year, but I have serious doubts as to whether they can fight all year for the title. Oh well, let us see if Mr Button can at least get a win or two under his belt.
i have always noticed that when honda(BAR) is competitive in a race tends to show potential for a win until the 1st or second pitstop. then for like 20 laps buttons times will be freakin bad.. hopefully honda this year gets it right and develops a consistently fast car.
I doubt they wil win this season but if they do wel this year and start the momentum.. who knows they may win in 2007!
actually this season promises to be very exciting, If only because for the first time in five years, there is a strong chance that a man whos first name does not begin with M could win the championship.
For the last few years Ferrari have always promised great things from the start, admittedly they failed to deliver last year, this year though, I reakon Williams are in with a shot, by virtue of the most reliable car.
Apart from that I can't tell who'll be W/C.
Alonso looks good again, but Renault won't be helping him so much this year I reakon,
Mclaren are fast but unreliable. Ferrari I havn't descided yet, but Brigestones may let them down again. Toyota I fancy for a win, Williams ditto, Honda dark horse, if Button stops moanin and starts driving, Rubens will only motivate him. RBR good spring a surprise.
Wow. Can't wait. Seven days, twelve hours and five minunits!

Did anybody check their fuel tanks? Are they legal?
It's just too early to say.....I doubt it. Renault look strong and they already know how to keep the wins coming. Honda haven't learned that yet.
Looks like a good season shaping up, but we have to see what happens in a race. Maybe Bridgestone will be better in higher temperatures? Who knows...
I think that the new qualifying and tyre allocation rules could play into the "third car teams" hands - so, maybe there lies a crucial advantage for Honda - a better chance of the right tyre selection.......
i think button has little chance in taking title because he rivals are strong too and you never know. the testing times are indeed promising but i dont think they are runing in regulated spec(some say hondas are only about 440 kgs when dry), the laps time can only give us an approximation not the race pace and the result
there is also the luck factor which we can see in many seasons "it's not all about the machine"
Testing times cannot be trusted. Any team can run whatever they choose, and we as spectators have no way of knowing if the car was illegal, or was just running on fumes to grab the day's news with a quick time. Personally, I pay little heed to times, I look at how many laps teams and driver have done.
And yes, Button and Honda have put in a lot of hard testing, a lot of laps. To me, that indicates the driver and team are well prepared, and most likely, competitive.
