AOWR vs. F1

Question:

Today AOWR is a a joke, we all know that (hopefully it will progress with the new car). Howeever, back in the late 70's thru 90's we had some nice cars and good competetion.

So...While still not the par of F1, how close were those vintage CART cars to their FI counterparts...90%?

....maybe....but was fishing for info re any lap time comparisons on that vintage of CART/F1 cars. What would a CART car do on a European course and what would a F1 car do on an American oval. I know driver swaps from different series have produced suprisingly par numbers.

Nowadays, the indycar's lap times are closer to F1 on road course, than is the '90s.
