Ure hoping I'm gonna say "Oh thats easy, its Ayrton Senna in some sort of Mclaren"
But im not so there hehe
I dont know the driver, but its not Senna (the helmet is yellow with think black bands...Senna helment was yellow with thicker green bands) And the car is some sort of Marlboro Sponsored Indy car or CART / IRL type car. Don't know exactly what though, I'm not really a fan of CART or IRL, or "IndyCar".

It is some cart or IRL car becuase the refilling hole is on the top of the car.
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.
it is senna testing the penske in 92 or 93? cant remember the year now, it was when he was looking at driving in the CART series for a year as McLaren were on a down...

looking at it and thinking more about it, it wouldnt have been running the blow off valve as it is in testing, the blow offs were fitted by the officals at the races then removed after, that way they can/could make sure they were all the same set to the same psi...
still bugging me on the year though, i have a feeling it is 92 as 93 was when mclaren had the 'customer' ford engines and senna was supposbaly on the race by race contract he demanded, being paid the million dollars a race as he thought the mclaren/ford package wasnt going to be competitve. guess he chose the right thing. million dollars per race, one of his best wins ever, his last gp win also, or CART, i guess he could have had the Indy 500 to his list of wins though...
I know the blow off valve is used for turbo engines, What does it do excalty, does it blow excess air (not exhaust) from the turbochager, but keeps the properller turning?

This is both the insurance policy of the turbo system, and it’s protector. Two things are governed by the blow-off valve; maximum boost levels and pressure spikes in the intake tract. While the first job is primarily handled by the wastegate, in the event of a big enough overboost, the blow-off valve will vent excess pressures to help maintain safe levels of boost. Basically, the blow-off valve is a springloaded poppet valve contraption that will bleed off and excess pressure that builds up in the intake system.
To keep the turbo’s RPM up and the pressures in the intake tract down, the blow-off valve vents this excess pressure for maximum performance and reliability.
yes that is senna in i believe 92. its emmo's CART car from that season. the test took place at firebird raceway which is outside of phoenix(?) senna was upset with all the technology in F1 and wanted more of the control to go back to the drivers, so he considered switching to CART. i know he enjoyed the car a lot, but as we know, decided to stay in F1!
Oh so it IS Senna?! I was looking at the helemt closely...its doesnt look quite the same.
But like I said I'm not much of a fan of Racing over the pond (no offense...its just not my cup-of-tea thats all) so you lot probably know more about it than me!

Wow
I am impressed. Senna also lapped faster than anyone had ever lapped.
He was simply Majic behind the wheel. He also tested at Laguna Seca and was quickly under the lap record there. What Cart would have been had Senna and Mansell been here in 93
Has the ariel been edited out? Look just above 'Senna's' head, that could be the camera but it doesn't look right.
Perhaps it is remote control. Definetly not an F1 car. Note the chevy badge and lack of overhead airbox.
