I record almost every race on a DVD. What I would like to know is, what kind of hardware/software do I need in order to be able to edit it on the computer...i.e. take snap-shots, make little clips, etc.

For movie editing and making clips I use Cyberlink's Power Director and for making animated gifs I use Corel Photo Paint.

Windows Movie Maker should be enough to make clips and to change format but I don't find it working as good as Power Director.

I always assumed that movie maker was just another crap marketing thing from Windows with no real qualities.

Is it any good at all?

Yeah it's crap, Power Director is much better(I used it in my friend's computer once)I have Movie Maker on my pc but it's just so crap
