Are they testing now with the full upgrade ?

No. Wings are still to come

Honestly, did anyone really expect anything different? It seems they simply cut the sidepods off that old Honda Mercedes and stuck them on their 'new' car.

Why they haven't just got the parts on the car as soon as possible I have no idea. Once you put a new front wing on your car everything aft of it changes, so they're not getting a 'baseline' of anything. It's total amateur hour.

I think it makes sense having a step by step approach, and evaluating what each change does to the car. Exhaust and sidepods yesterday and today, front wing tomorrow.

If you test everything all at once, it's hard to know which bit does what to the car.

Run by amateurs obviously :) I completely understand and can deduce your logic. Some will say they know what they're doing while others believe their current path to be asinine. We'll see I guess. Nico seems to like the changes.

The changes to date are impressive as far as I am concerned. They have a genuinely different and reportedly effective exhaust system, real turning vanes, 100% better sidepods than before as they are far more slim at the back, new barge boards, ploughs under the nose, and the front wing has yet to show itself. Has any other team added this much to their car?

maybe I´m too concerned .I had hoped for something convincing for 2011 but I stil see so many rough edges and areas were they did not exploit the possibilities. To call them amateurs ...well they are not that slow ,are they?

Nico stated the exhaust treatment has a lot of potential for performance. They are probably wanting to benchmark just this upgrade to make sure their calculations were on par. It most certainly is not total amateur hour. We're the amatuers.

Their long runs look really good. If the front wing brings another .2-.3 I think they will be very competitive. They have yet to do any low fuel runs, but I suspect in the end the car has another 1.5 seconds in it for qualy spec. They definitely have a lot of upward mobility.

It's funny how a lot of us keep turning out to be right......

There's really nothing on that car apart from a different exhaust position, and even that looks barely like what a lot of teams were doing last year. Is that "Very different" as Ross Brawn said it would be? Hardly.

Say what? They have changed their car more than anyone has thus far. Slimmer and redesigned sidepods, turning vanes, barge boards, ploughs under the nose, exhaust, and a front wing and possibly rear wing to come.

Name one other team to change their car this much. Please name another. I'm not trying to sound like some sort of fanboy, but the accustations that they have, "done little" and you and X are going to wave your, "I'm correct" flag is completely and utterly wrong.

Some may argue with all the time this team had to work on this year's car, they shouldn't HAVE to change that much kit during testing. But it is what it is, and thankfully these additional pieces and parts are making a noticeable difference. Well on their way to "competitive" hopefully.

With new front and rear wings to come.

So how is this not a much changed car? Its not spectacular, granted. Nor is Ferrari, and Red Bull are hardly bending my interpretation of innovation.
More could have been done.
