HRT F111 Cosworth

My impressions of the car in the flesh is that its a well turned out car, it has potential, and hopefully with a good finance package, the car can be developed to a stage where they will be keeping pace with Marussia Virgin. Yes the car looks plain in comparison to the other cars, but it looks to be a step forward on the F110.

The Williams LG14 transmission will be a leap forward to them in terms of relyability and weight not to mention the ammount of weight and technology that is in the rear suspension, the set up side of things will also be a massive leap forward as well.

The front wing looks like it was ripped form 2009, but thats not a bad thing, also the waisted sidepods will also provide a massive leap in aero efficiency as well. The them have already said thet their single diffuser creates more downforce that the F110s double diffusers. The F111 looks like it has more downforce already, whitch will help them, they will have to develop the car futher to find its sweep sopt, but if the develop it to the point it works for them, then they can develop it mechanichally like the F110 was evolved.

Ill have to wait to see their testing times, but untill they complete their first 5,000km with the car i think that they will struggle, as the average distance that has been completed in pre season testing so far is 4,972.389km.

If Hispania manage to stay at Barcelona or are able to manage to get some running at another cuircit before Melbourne it will help, but i doubt there is time as the cars will have to be in their shipping fatigure for Thursday 17th to make it to Albert Park in time. I sence a difficult time for the start of 2011, id expect to see them using up their allocation of tyres quickly in FP1 and FP2. If they get 70 laps on both cars in FP1 and FP2 from Melbourne, Sepang, Shanghai and Turkey they will be looking in better shape than they are. But compaired to 2010 they are already in better shape as they have a car that isnt being built up in the paddock of the first GP.

The new livery looks much better suited for visibility than grey of last yr. =D>
Looks like the car has "Speed" (logo on nose) & will reach the "checquerd flag." :P
I think they have a bigger sponsorship with Tata. Tata must be paying more than Embratel did last yr.(via Senna) as the Tata logo is prominently on airbox & in front of side mirrors. How much $$ are Tata bringing to the team via Karthikeyan? Is Liuzzi bringing any sponsors or funds to the team? I'm not sure if Liuzzi was the right choice. I would have thought they need more funding...thus would have selected another young pay driver. Looking fwd. to seeing better pics of the rear of car & how they have incorporated & packaged Williams trans. & r. suspension.

I was reading on all of the spanish website's that Hispania have more sponsors they are in deep negotiations with.

Liuzzi - we are not sure if he is bringing sponsorship but Kolles has mentioned today that "budget" has been signed off.

What a weird wing shape for the rear wing, or is that just me?

Plus, is there a boz on the diffuser or something?

Ok, I will ask...

What is a boz?

No vents in the RW endplates too. That's not the first car missing these this season though.

Who built this chassis? I heard they had fallen out with Dallara.

Oh, go on then, as it's you! ;-)

Interesting location for the starter motor.

and interesting that they've managed to put bodywork around the drive shafts. I don't think anyone else has done this this year have they?

I think Red Bull and Mclaren have body work around theirs, more compressed than these ones though.

F1 Fanatic wrote:HRT will not participate in the test session in Barcelona on Saturday having failed to get the parts they need to the track.

The team said their dampers had been impounded by customs in Spain.

Team principal Colin Kolles said: “Unfortunately we could not get the dampers out of customs.

“The result of this is that we can’t run tomorrow.

“This is life and we will work to overcome the problem”.

HRT will therefore miss the last opportunity to run their new car in pre-season testing.
Oh dear. That level of organisation doesn't bode well.
