I also checked big boards.com, f1tech.net does not break the top 2000, but that site lists how many members it has for each board and how many posts have been posted, in the millions in the top 100 and most of the popular boards are about anime or role playing games.
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

The worst F1 site I ever visit is formula1.com , no forum, no statistics. How crapping, f1technical.net should break into the 2000 barrier long ago :? but why formula1.com is in the 3000+ barrier? :?

The site itself isn’t slow, the homepage, forum index, news and all the articles load as fast as ever did.
The problem, that I found is getting worse in the recent weeks, is the forum and that’s caused by the loading of the avatars from the site http://murphy.on.neobee.net/ ; that site is slow and creates a huge bottleneck to loading of the pages especially because for some reason it doesn’t allow to save images on the temporary folder (the avatars aren’t visible offline) so you have to reload them every time you open a page online.
Just remove these avatars or put them on a better server and the problem will be solved, proof is the fact that the other avatars, also the animated ones, located on a different site, don’t cause noticeable reduction of the forum speed.

I don't notice a thing about that Reca. Btw: Manchild has spend hours and hours making avatars for the members asking for it, why would everyone delete or change their avatar than?

That is why I told members to put avatars I made them on their webspaces but some haven't done so yet.

Principessa, I’m sorry if it sounded harsh to you but that wasn’t my intention. You focused too much on the “remove”, there’s a “or put them on another site” after that and as I said the problem aren’t the avatars but the site hosting them. In fact I said that avatars, also animated ones, hosted on other sites don’t cause problems, and yours is the proof, being on a different site it doesn’t slow down f1technical, others do.

manchild : thanks, I didn’t read that thread (too many things to read recently...) so I didn’t know you were already trying to take care of the situation. Actually I didn’t even notice that that was your website, I just copied the link from properties of one of the avatars I can’t see offline because these are the ones causing the drop in loading speed.

no problem Reca

BTW, I think I've also mailed avatars to most of the users but still if someone has problem to get them just save forum page with your avatar on desktop and there in folder containing files of that page you'll find the avatar gif file so you can upload it to your own webspace.

Sorry Reca if my post seemed like I was mad. It's just that I really appreciate the work of Manchild and I haven't really noticed problems with the avatars

No hard feelings
