12 teams

Post

Why is there only going to be 12 teams in F1? Not enough space in the pits? less money for each team in regards to commercial revenue?

I know they used to have 30 or more entries in f1 back in the day where only the top 26 cars that qualified will get to race. so why not 14 teams?
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

I think there should eb more than 12 teams, after all if Super Aguri, Midland, Torro Rosso or any other small teams decide its not vaible to carry on in F1 the FIA have a problem. Bring back 107% qualifying rule and allow more teams.

Give the fans something to enjoy.

i personally think they dont want to bring back the 107 rule because formula 1 is so commercial that if a car doesnt qualify for the race.. there will be too much pressure from the sponsors.

There was much more teams in late '80s early '90s than in period when 107% rule was applied. Back than there was between 36 and 39 cars entering qualifications where only top 26 qualified for the race. Such rule was one of the early reasons why F1 stared dying...
