HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

"Spanish team had to adapt last year’s front wing to the car because the new one failed the crash test."
"Some (parts) had to be taken to Australia by team members in suitcases, including team boss Colin Kolles whose own suitcase was rejected by the airline because it weighed too much. So former F1 driver and German commentator Christian Danner put some of the parts in his own luggage."

Lest year though, it turned out the other way round, as they were steadily closing gap to the front runners for all season with very little development.

If this chassis happens to be better fundamental concept then Virgin's dog of a car, they will catch them easily. And Virgin is upgrade of last year car so it has already been developed and it will be harder to find gains for it (you know, law of diminishing returns), when despite reusing F110 tub this car is basically all new (front wing, nose, front suspension, sidepods, drive train, rear wing).

Oh, and one last thing. Did they use ARW during qualy? If not, there's another gain there.

Oh, Andrea Moda Formula ;) They couldn't take any parts in their luggage, cause it was full with money for bribes already ;) Their owner was arrested and they did some nasty tricks with switching drivers. HRT's nowhere near if it comes to being silly ;)

So how did the FIA come to the conclusion that HRT would be a better pick over proton? Thursday Friday was clearly the first time they have ever fully assembled this car. Everyone in the garage was looking at the new floor that hadnt been installed yet like it was there first time seeing it. And i coudlve sworn i saw liuzzi giving direction to his crew in the garage because he knew more then they did.

It is not uncommon to bring parts while travelling, I remember McLaren doing this 2010 or 2009

I'll say it. I might look like a fool in a few months but I'll say it.

HRT will find over four seconds between now and the end of the season.

There, I said it.

Here's something. F1.com does not have HRT listed under Teams, but the drivers are

I agree with you bot, Hispania will find a lot of time over the season.

Now that both cars are built, they will have 3 practice sessions to get the car's even further set up.

What I love about the Hispania bashing is that D'Ambrosio finished 4 laps down and also he was a chicane and getting in the way for quite a few places.

I guess its easier to pick on the smaller teams!

Here's a picture of Mike Gascoyne's suitcase for example, it's not a crime! Image

Fiqure8 - can you repost your pic, it doesn't seem to be working?

On the BBC coverage it showed Hispania having 2 completed car's sat there!

I'm trying to remember the 1st practice session in which Virgin and Team Lotus competed, where they as slow in the first 6 laps or so?

Indeed you are correct, could be something to do with the car not qualifying, as the drivers results are in the order that they finished the race (Saubers drivers in their finishing position)

Afaik the list was made just before the start of the season, an official F1 site simply must have a list of teams. The team list currently doesn't reflect the constructor standings.

And the poor HRT cannot be found under all teams, but after scrooling through the individual list  Maybe it's because they hate FOTA.
