hey guys,

was just wondering was i the only person who did not wake up for the GP this morning, and had to spend the whole morning avoid any websites, radio programs or Tv that might give away the results of the race?

i think the aussie race is the only one i cant wake up for, but i guess some of you guys from that part of the world must lose so much sleep when the races are in europe
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!

I thought I would tape it live then it would just be finishing as I was waking up... ideal! Except in my drunken state last night I set the video to record the B.B.C. Learning Zone by accident. (d'oh) So I too spent the day avoiding tv and the net too.

Spike, I got up at 4:30 am but then went back for another 4 hours of snoozing afterwards!

When you live in Aus, every European race starts at 10:30-11pm after the Sunday night movie and you end up being a bit tired for work on the Monday morning :)

Ironic, Russ :)

I'm too tired to really enjoy the race when it's on at 4am in the morning:( as apposed to watching the re-run. But for some weired reason, I still get up to watch it, probably because there something better about watching it live

No problem for me. I had only just got up at 1:00 to see the rerun on ITV.

No thats not quite true, I was up from 9:00 watching WTCC warm up on British Eurosport. All the F1 info they have is complete crap. i.e. this morning I was told Button had an engine failure in warm up and had dropped 10 places on the grid, where it should have said he had an engine failure in the race and dropped to tenth!

It came on at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night and then again on 11:30 A.M. on Sunday. It was such a good race I watched it twice.

Pffffff pussies...not waking up for the race!
I didn't had much sleep on fridaynight, got up for site (to report the third practice session) and to watch qualifying at 4:30. Got back to bed at 6:15 after qualifying but couldn't sleep much. So, long day ahead and I went to bed around 1, but couldn't sleep again, So I slept for 3 hours and a half when I woke up at 5:30 for the Warm-up, went after the race to bed for 1 hour, went to play basketball and I'm still alive and kicking! :P

People think I'm crazy to get up for F1....especially my parents.

In Canada, the race started at 11 pm, so it worked out for me. Also we have two channels of F1 coverage, one being Speedtv coverage which is not that good, and TSN (Canada's sports network) which just uses ITV's feed which is always so much better in my opinion
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

It was 7:30 PM Saturday for me. No need to sacrifice sleep.

If it was early in the morning, I just turn on the DVD recorder the night before. However, when it comes to 24 hours of Le Mans, I will wake up in the morning and try to watch as much of it as I can. Usually just doze off for an hour or so but I force myself to watch it.

No Problem here. 7:30 pm which is nice, but now that the races are going to EU. I will be up again at 4:30a.m :x because as somebody said earlier, there is something about watching it live :D

hey M3_lover, i'm in canada too and the inane blather of vic router and gerry donaldson on TSN makes me crazy. between them, they dumb down everything to a point that it's wrong. i sent an e-mail to TSN asking them why they didn't have the ITV feed for Quallifying, but i got no response.

now i watch qualy and pre race on SPEED TV and the ITV feed for the race on TSN. its way better than this way.

cheers from the wet coast.

well, im studying architecture which means i dont sleep anyhow. even when the races go to europe (im in california) i often dont need to wake up because i have been up all night anyhow. architecture is a real b*tch, as is waking up at ungodly hours to watch a race, but i do love it - much as we all love F1.
