Renault R31

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

20kg more fuel (+ 0,8s per lap) then Mclaren & co and still on about the same (or even better) race pace in case of RB7. If it's true, we can see 17 more poles for RBR this year.

THe thing is mclaran and Ferrari would have that same 20kg of extra fuel (or more)at the start as well. They too use fuel overrun.

I don't think it would be up to 20KG, based on the point that I don't think they use up to 200KG at race start. Brundle often quoted 150KG.

Are the teams allowed to change engine maps in parc ferme between qually and race, so they have even more exhaust boost in qually trim ?

I believe that after they do the formation lap they're no longer in parc ferme

Can't they/don't they just do that with a switch on the steering wheel?

They do, this also controls the amount of fuel they use depending on the engine map they use.

^Makes sense... have you heard his English? My Russian friends even make fun of his English. They weren't too surprised to see him on the podium, but they were surprised he lasted the whole press conference in Australia. Haha.

C'mon it's a fake. You can see the totally different image artifacts and resolution on wheel. Also notice : the green nitro button :) and "Regime....something...ALONSO" engine map position :))

HAHA, I didn't even look closely. Awesome. Now I have to send that to my friends. They already loved the "Fernando. Petrov is faster than you."

It's a joke!

Green button - "Nitro"
The white on the right - "yes" and "no"
The knobs - "pick a song", "Volume", "options"and "Bass"
The knob on the right - "mode fast Alonso"

And I think on the upper right the yellowish light "V.V" which is Vladimir Vladimirevich that is Prime minister Putin who was very much involved in his F1 career.
