HRT F111 Cosworth

I always support the small teams, i am a Red Bull/McLaren fan by default, and i support my fellow country man Di Resta as well, also Team Lotus as one of the "new teams" that i like the ethos coming out of.

But i have a soft spot for Hispania, they dont have the same Minardi spirti, but they have a completly diffrent feel to them, but i will always support the smaller teams on the grid as those guys embody what F1 should be about.

I have to agree with that. I would like to see the team beat the 107% rule in Malaysia.

Hispania may get a lot of stick in the Motor sport press but they have a plucky spirit.

One thing that summed it up for me, was seeing Colin Kolles in Q1 at Australia on the TV looking really really tired after 3 days non stop transporting parts of the cars from the airport.

They just need to keep focused and gradually build up the team and they will get better.

Id like to see Liuzzi get in, as i dont think that Karthekeyan is gonna be up to speed yet. I think he is about 2 GPs away from being up to propper speed.

HRT Need to get 5000KM on the clock by the end of Turkey, whitch means they need 1650KM as a team on the board at each event, whitch is 825KM per driver. That way they will be up to speed and up to pace, and ready for performance upgrades.

The BGP wing will show up, Hispania have had the 4 wings that didnt make it flown out malasia on a "late" DHL Global freight delivery.

Its not the wings that didnt show up at Oz, it was the nose boxes as those are the crash structures, each car had a single BGP Wing for Oz as they had the spare wing and nose box of the F110 avalable.

Hispania will have each car fully assembled and also shaken down for the start of (what is belive it or not, in FIA and teams litrature for the season) Round 3 of the championship at Sepang.

So both the 2011 nosecone and FW will be on the cars then?

Great News :D

The team is going places. The Brackley #2 tunnel will be worth quite a bit to them, as it is a state of the art facility.

I can see Hispania overaking Virgin very soon, and with the quality investment that they have done with the Williams LG14 transmission and now the Brackley #2 tunnel, they team is showing signs that its going to be going forward. Virgin will be the slowest again this year, and all down to a all CFD simulation route, they need a tunnel and a better transmission, something that Hispania now has both.

I had the pleasure to work with one of Kolles mechanics and he was full of praise for the man and his dad as well ..Accordingly I have the feeling Kolles will win this battle (to keep the ship afloat and deservedly.

This picture to show differences in exhausts and the cooling system. Note the clean design on F111.

It does look a lot better than the other cars, Im sure the first nine laps of some of the others weren't only a couple of seconds off normal pace too!

I have a feeling liuzzi will get into the race but nahrain might miss out, if they can quallify for these next few rounds then using that wind tunnel their upgrade planned for spain could push them above Virgin.

I think Virgin are silly having no Wind Tunnel at all when even minimal testing would be far more efficient than waisting whatever budget they have on an uncompetitive car :/

Once again time to root for my favorite backmarkers HRT!!

It would be a great outcome for both cars to qualify within 107%, one car would be OK, and zero cars for the second consecutive race would be a bad situation.

One thing in HRT's favor this weekend is tire wear. Everyone agrees there will be more tire wear and pit stops than Australia. If leading teams think they need more tires for the race then they'll be less likely to use new soft tires for flying laps in Q1. This could help ensure that HRT does not have to get within 107% of a truly blazing lap time.
