HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

For the time they have had, they have done a very credible and well done effort.

If any team had simmilar resources some wouldnt be able to do the same sort of design and performance.

Give the car 5,000KM and then judge it.

On RTL post qualy interview timo Glock was more afraid of being cought by HRT than having hope to catch Lotus in the coming weeks...it was half joking but you could see he is concerned.

Well, both cars qualified fairly comfortably, and Liuzzi is 0.6 seconds off the last Virgin! Things are looking up for HRT after a difficult time in Melbourne.

I'm very happy for the team and of course for the drivers.

But i'm a little bit worried because the car remains 2 seg slower than F110,

GP 2010 Malasia Gap Laps
FP3 Bruno Senna 1:39.868 6.326 19
FP3 Karun Chandhok 1:39.895 6.353 16

I don't know how many time is due to the new tyres, DDD or lack of km.

Its great to have seen them both make it in, they do look within a touchable distance of virgin if they can make sure they get their upgrade for spain.

Im not sure on the rules for hyperlinks but I found this:

Don't be too worried about the 2010 times.

Hispania just need to keep pace with the Virgin's at the moment.

Plus its just a lack of running.

Lol funny how they just keep on pushing it over the poor guy!
I am really glad we got a full grid tomorrow. Hrt need all the running time they can get. I am sure this will improve their pace for the next race. I cant wait to see their race pace compared to Virgin.

Liuzzi Vs. D'Ambrosio qualy lap;
SECTOR 1
J. D'AMBROSIO 25.704 V. LIUZZI 25.796

SECTOR 2
J. D'AMBROSIO 34.221 V. LIUZZI 34.273

SECTOR 3
J. D'AMBROSIO 41.043 V. LIUZZI 41.480

SPEED TRAP
J. D'AMBROSIO 301.7 V. LIUZZI 299.1

The Sector 3 was key but don't know if it is due to RDS or the faster bends.

Virgin is done HRT has undoubtedly more potential and with Liuzzi a driver of comparaable expertise to Glock.I think HRT will split Virgin with Liuzzi already in the next race.

This car has gained 4.5% in performance in what is to my charts, just under 500KM that it has done since Melbourne. If they get 300km (Asuming both cars get lapped twice) on both cars tomorrow, they will gain so much data that im sure that they will just pass Virgin at China if they gain half as much performance again, whitch means they will be about a lap in race distance terms behing Team Lotus, whitch is just crazy for a car that was shakendown in a Quali session at the first round of the season.

With the Brackley #2 tunnel time and a couple of quality upgrades, and them having time to maximise the cars setup by simply understanding the package like the F110, i think the F111 will gap to the midfeild and make Virgin look a little silly.

Sounds really good especially from a car Geoff Willis said was designed from mid-December, build within 14-15 weeks by 25 people and almost didn't make it! I think they might even gain some more even tomorrow during the race, once Luizzi & Narin build confidence and predictability on how much more they can push the car. I just hope the reliability is there to finish the race.

HRT say there are bringing aerodynamic updates to China. I hope they get some good pace out of the upgrades.

http://www.grandprixactual.com/index.ph ... 1&Itemid=2

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90664

"We have small improvements in the rear wing and generally on the aerodynamics"

Does anyone know why exactly they stopped Liuzzi 8 laps too early, Could this upgrade be the reason? They also didn't say the reason why the other car was running too hot.
