Geez, you wonder what the heck is going on. Last year they devoted almost nothing for improvements or competitiveness, saying that the money and serious effort would start in '06. And they have even been rumored in getting Gascoyne. Now, who knows what is going to happen.
I expect that at Reb Bull too. Just like Toyota, Matesicz entered F1 too greedy, spent pile of money on car and top designers, bought another team but that doesn't mean they'll ever make it.
Probably a good time to be selling, with more 2008 entries than places - having some sort of infrastructure in place must look like a half good plan for one of the hopeful newcomers
I was thinking that since he cut the funding, he is going to try to maximize his selling of the team before 2008. This guy is a smart business man and he knows you need to test and expand to become a good team, my guess is take away as much money as possible so when you sell the team, you will make a huge profit.
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Well, i kinda saw this coming for Midland. Alex is was content with just putting enough money to get his company's name on the grid but it has turned out to be costlier than he thought. I guess thats a lesson learnt for people treating F1 only as an advertising opportunity
