does anyone remember DC testing a CVT in a Williams (a long time back, he was at Williams after all)? As the gearbox always keeps the engine revs in the powerband it had its advantages but sounded crap.
I doubt Ron, Ross, Sam (Michaels) and all the other team principles care that I didn't like the sound (no rise or fall in engine note, always a piercing 18K scream) but I imagine always being at full power must be a massive advantage.
As long the car handles better than my Mum's CVT Volvo did it sounds like a winner.
Could Mad Max have banned them?
