great turn-around by ferrari. hoping that they are on a right strategy and not running light.. i think its good for ferrari fans that the lightning quick starters renault is not there to jump into the lead. its goin to be a GREAT race

Damn I hope Renault are carried with more fuel.
Both Ferraris and both Honda cars in front is not very good is it :/

And also... what is fisico doing with his new engine? He should be quicker then Fernando with that RS26B

Just like in Bahrain? Also, main rivals on old engines... just wait till Nurbugring race ends to judge the pace.

BTW, Fisichella really deserving to be sacked ASAP!

Historic, Senna claimed his last pole in Imola and now Schumi broke his record in the same place, just historic =D> plus I had it recorded to my F1 history book, I record everything in it.

And I agree with manchild and Fisico should be SACKED ASAP!!!!!

I supported Giancarlo and searched him excuses most of times, but this time it's too much. :x What the hell is he doing??! I already hear him in selected drivers quote in a few hours: "I had big understeer, I had traffic, cluch problem", or transmition or whatever... He does not deserve this seat, and it's annoying to admit that when Renault is about to loose Fernando. A great car is not enough if you don't have the driver... And if they loose succes, we all now we'll loose them in 2009.
Well, congratulation to Ferrari and Honda. Toyota made an impressive return too. Seems Imola really suit the Brigestone tires.

I happen to agree, just too much excuses( if I was Flavio I would have sacked him after Melbourne ).

Gratz to Toyota and Ferrari for such a great return =D>

Fisico to be a Renault team leader??? [-o< I hope not...

yeah. i agree with manchild.. it may be too early to judge the pace. but i think it looks like the other teams are trying harder to bridge the gap with renault.

1 more sidenote... if massa holds up alonso. we will never hear the end of it from manchild.. hehe

It does seem ironic that last year Ferrari also had a huge advantage at the same grand prix. Lets just hope there is more of this strong pace to come in future grand prix, unlike last years season

Isn't Ferrari just showing off with low(er) fuel loads, because it's one of there home Grandprix?

I would say: let's wait until Imola ends.

But, no matter if the circuit suits the tires, they are light or whatever: wow... Ferrari is back. This is going to be fun. I can hardly wait for the race.

When Schumacher has a chance, you never know what is going to happen.

Sure micheal has got pole, but ferrari have run him out on a lighter fuel load.

Why do i say this, well they need to perform good at home as they have really screwed up in the first three races, especially the last. Also to get that ferrari band wagon rolling again what better why to get momentum that having schumi break senna pole position record (shame he never did it in the same amont of races, but that's another thread). This will give the italian press alot to write about tonight and get more bums on grandstand seats.

Also if the combineation of the tyre and was good then why was his team mate 0.907 secs off the pace. Yes i know massa is crap but if the car is that good as they are saying then we should be seing a 1-2 or a 1-3, with a smaller gap.

Massa should have been 2nd as his two stopping strategy should have been to hold the pack up, whilst a 3 stopping schui runs off into the distance.

I personally think that Nurburgring and catalunya will the acid test that sorts out the "who's who" for everyone especially, ferrari.

Even if he is light on fuel, I still think he has the best chance of winning tomorrow.

I bet you he is not light on fuel.

He will go for no more than 3 laps less than Alonso and will probably go longer than JB and RB.

They are actually that fast I reckon.
