Alonso Comment

After reading what he said, I really can not understand why he would say that , Im thinking the press wanted to make up a story or something.

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

well after qualifying he said that Renault had always helped him, I think Flavio had some words, but I still can not believe he would say a thing like that unless the fame is getting to his head.

This is what tends to happen when a driver or anyone else for that matter is contracted to move to another team, but I still think it's unproffessionable of him to do so.

The quotes:
- "They actually never helped me in the four or five years that I've been here."
- "Anyone can see what has happened in some races."

You can make anything of that and insinuate a lot with those quotes. And asking Flavio for a comment on those quotes, of course he doesn't understand, nobody does without knowing what he replied to or what he added to that.

Sensational to attract readers to sites, that's all

I second that, Tomba. As shocking as the commnets may be I would like to see them in their entirety. I just can't imagian anyone saying something like that after winning a WDC with the team in question.

The comments are not as straight forward as one thinks. That depends on a lot of things. You should understand that Alonso is Spanish and the way things work out in Spain is quite differernt to Engalnd. I mean the way people interact, how they talk, work and loads of other things.

Anyway, he should understand that working for a company in England means 'you are here because you know what you are supposed to do' and thats why he is there and that means no help in terms of kissing your arse etc etc. However, if their job is to give you a proper car then Alonso has one. Isnt that helping?

I can go on and on for ever but I would rather stop. These drivers can drive but it doesnt mean they have brains. I respect Coulthard for his professional attitude towards racing, yeah look at Montoyo, another sample I should say :x

its just some reporters taking things out of context.. i doubt alonso is stupid enough to say such things.. if he says this when he is already in mclaren then maybe there is some truth to this. now its utter rubbish!!

I hope you mean Montoya also does not have a brain since he tends to speak his brain quite alot.

Some people tend to like Villeneuve, Coulthard and Montoya (and sometimes Schumacher!) because they speak. There is a thin line between prudent and servile in what could be called "the most commercialized of sports".

You have to understand that at the other extreme "some people does not bend any lower because the carpets aren't thinner enough". :)

Its not about speaking your brain and being brave. Its about meaning what you say!

Crappy journalism (something you get used to in England) really is one of my pet hates! :x
