Sorry to hear about the spill- hope you have a speedy recovery. At least you retained your clavicle! Cool story about the motorcycle race- done in true Tazio style!

Don't worry about the mix-up, no harm done. When I first arrived in Glasgow I took my bike with me and when I first took it on the road I started down the right lane- now there is a mix-up I never repeated!

Anyway, if you can't make it out Tuesday (you bring the ducks), we can shoot for Austin! viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10171
I'll be in the Bay Area the first week of November. I'll bring Pheasant.

Holy crap, I got only 50% and I'm entering the driving test this Friday. But then again this seems quite different from the European tests, am I right?

Ouch! 44%.
To defend myself, I never get in a north american country.
At least, I choose the "safer" choices (15mph in school zone, pedestrian have the right of way all the time, etc) but I could have at least 60% by thinking a little more (you may pass with a solid line #-o we have the same but white in France, same with the far-left lane)

A little old (only 2 years) but...

No stopping (yeah, I also didn't get this one the first time I saw it)

Keep to the right (and down?)

You have the right of way

YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY (for the love of Pete, who designed this thing?)

I don't know how they are in USA but in France, the shape and the color means something:
- Triangle is for caution.
- Round is something you have to (when blue) do or a forbidding (when there is a red circle)
- Square is per information (e.g. one way road) and they all are blue.

You also have some signs which are yellow: they are temporary signs (roadworks)

Concerning the the third sign, I think it is because the sign with a horizontal arrow already exists which means you have to turn right.
Some european motorways have white-on-green destination or information signs (like in America) while some have white-on-blue. Black-on-white destination signs are used in smaller roads, while in America they're used when the signs are small. However, they're white on yellow in Germany, for example and in England they are white on blue or white on green depending of the importance of the road.
Well, here we use Black-on-white, white-on-green, white-on-blue AND black-on-yellow
I only ask: why? ;)
That's a damn good question :D
