Prodrive Winner

Post

It has been going around on a lot of websites that prodrive has nabbed the 12th spot and that Paul stoddart has confirmed that he did not get the spot, so it looks like david richards is the winner
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

As it has been said before on this site, David Richards will undoubtable do a bet job but F1 needs a character like Stoddart.

Dave Richards is a good man and has some character, he did get ousted from Honda because he couldn't get along with the team.

Personally I think Prodrive is a better candidate than any team Stoddart could put together. Maybe only rivalled by someone like Trevor Carlin.

Whether or not Richards would be better than Stoddart (admittedly, he probably is better prepared), I can't help but think that I'd rather have the Minardi name back than Prodrive.

Shame all the serious contenders (Carlin, Prodrive, Minardi, etc.) have to fight for the same spot, assuming the teams already present getan advantage.

Jean Alesi interviewed by TF1 channel on the grid today:

Journalist: will we see you running a team in 2008?
Alesi: Yes.
then he added: "next year"! (don't know how to interpret this, probably just because we'll see Direxiv do private testing.)

If Prodrive is the choosen team, then how to explain that :?:

Everything would become clear if (for instance) Super Aguri were withdrawing in the end of 2007 or even sooner.

don't think SA will withdraw so soon, they had a very big disadvatage and they're trying to reduce the gap. I think it would be more likely that midland left f1

I honestly really want Midland to leave F1 and make way for EJ and I want SAF1 to change their team principal to stoddy.
