Formula 1 data during a race

Post

Hey all,

During Imola I was uncharacteristically sitting at home watching the f1. I then logged on to http://www.formula1.com and watched their live timing during the race.

Now because im in South Africa, there is a 3-5 second delay betwen live transmission, and found this live timing to be very accurate.

Does anyone else use any websites like these for live timing during the race?

Are there any other sites that have info like this?

Regards
Craig

Also it would be nice to have a website where we can find every laptime of drivers like the MotoGP website? Do you know a site like this?

There are other sites like it but formula1.com is the simplest and most reliable and it has no advertising of subscription fees.

Well I hope there is more,

the nice thing was that I could actually see what the commentators where talking about. I could also compare where my favourite driver is, even though there was hardly any coverage on tv.

I think a free site with all this info would be great, and Im just hoping there is something else out there better than the f1 live timing from formula1.com

I'll google, see if i can find anything...

Regards
Craig

Try this out hope you like it

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Renault had live telemetry on their site for both their drivers last year or year before that but I don't know if they still have it like that. It was really interesting to get all data - steering, brakes, throttle, G-force, rpm...

Now they call it race control but I haven't checked it this season. Apparently you can get telemetry on PC live via interent (3 sec. delay) and on mobile phone.

it's funny and easy, you've a cockpit view and you can see the steering wheel and graphs with telemetry stuff. At first I was a bit disappointed just because I first used it on Indianapolis free practice :D
